It is still in development as an idea, not a confirmed finished or commercially released game. The public project repository describes its web build as a test bed for race presentation, not the final game.
How the proposed game loop works
The concept links racing to breeding across generations. Creatures would have individual traits, and players would raise and race them. Race results would then help determine which individuals become parents for the next generation. That makes a race part of a longer-term breeding strategy rather than an isolated contest.

The intended challenge is to keep one creature from being best in every situation. Different distances, turns, elevations, and surfaces could favor different abilities, so players would have to decide which lineages suit the conditions they care about.
What races and courses might involve
The creator has discussed varied race conditions, but has not settled on specific race formats or balance. One proposal is for players to build courses from modular sections, such as straights, turns, uphill and downhill stretches, narrow or wide paths, and surfaces including mud, sand, grass, rock, or snow.

Under that idea, course design would matter because conditions could shape which traits perform well—and therefore which creatures players choose to breed. A modular course editor is a design proposal, not a feature confirmed as implemented.
Would players control creatures during races?
The creator says players would not steer or directly control a creature once a race begins. AI has been considered as an optional way to help players analyze past races and create a strategy file. The creator also says players should be able to produce the same kind of instructions through the normal interface, and that the game rules should work without AI. These are design intentions, not confirmation of released features.

Does EvoWild Run require blockchain?
Not according to the creator’s stated starting intentions: connecting a wallet would not be required to participate, no game-specific token is planned, creatures would not be issued as NFTs, and Play-to-Earn is not the game’s purpose. The creator is still asking whether blockchain has a meaningful role; possible uses under consideration include preserving creature, lineage, or course histories. Those possibilities remain open design questions, not announced game features. The creator frames the issue directly: “Does this game actually require Blockchain?”
What exists publicly so far?
The public badjoke-lab/evowild-test repository describes a web prototype intended to validate race presentation and explicitly calls itself a test bed rather than the final game repository. Its listed scope includes 18 simultaneous racers and race, follow, and tactical cameras, as well as movement, blocking, lane changes, and overtakes. The 18-racer figure is a stated prototype scope detail, not an independently validated performance result. This repository does not establish that the full game is released or commercially available.

What remains undecided
The creator’s design questions include what race formats will exist, how much training changes a creature, which traits are inherited versus developed, and what role—if any—blockchain should play. Player involvement during races is another design axis: the later note rejects direct control while leaving AI-assisted strategy creation optional. Until these choices are settled, EvoWild Run is best understood as an evolving concept with a race-presentation prototype, not a finished game with confirmed final systems.
