Element has documented a bridge that connected Element to a Microsoft Teams workspace, but its current documentation says the bridge is no longer available for purchase and the guide is intended for existing customers. The documented bridge also requires control of the Teams workspace and does not support private channels.
What is Element Pro?
Element Pro is the user-facing workplace client in Element’s professional communications offering. It is not the server: Element describes Element Server Suite Pro (ESS Pro) as the professional Matrix backend, while Element Pro is the frontend employees use. Element says Element Pro is included with ESS Pro subscriptions.

Element positions the client for organizations, including government and public-sector teams. Its workplace features are intended to help organizations configure, deploy and manage the app. These are capabilities stated by Element, not an independent assessment of their operation.

- Organizational branding: configure an in-app brand color; a whitelabel option is also offered for custom-branded applications.
- Mobile device management (MDM): support for automating the app’s connection to an organization’s homeserver.
- TLS certificate pinning: specify and verify the intended server.
- Internal analytics and diagnostics: sensitive analytics and diagnostic reports are handled internally.
- Deployment choices: distribute through an internal platform or ordinary app stores.
- Content scanning: enhanced scanning to support antivirus and data loss prevention.
- Room administration: expanded room management with group- and role-based access control.
Element’s Element Pro product page describes it as “Our new frontend client built for the workplace.” The company’s October 16, 2025 launch announcement also describes the client as designed for workplace use and notes server-configured branding and whitelabeling.

Does Element Pro work with Microsoft Teams?
Element has documented a Microsoft Teams Bridge connecting Element to a Teams workspace. In the documented setup, a Teams team appears in Element as a space, and its channels are represented as rooms. Users authenticate their Teams account through a bridge bot. Setup requires a Teams link, Microsoft authorization, a Teams user account for the bot, and an administrator of the Teams group.
The important current limitation is availability: Element’s Teams Bridge documentation, current as accessed October 7, 2026, says, “The Teams bridge is no longer available for purchase.” The guide is for existing customers. Element’s current documentation does not establish a replacement route or a bridge that new customers can buy, so older announcements should not be treated as current availability information.

What the documented bridge does not support
- A Teams workspace you do not administer: Element says connecting to a workspace the customer does not control is unsupported. The documented approach is for an administrator-controlled Teams group.
- Private channels: the documentation lists them as unsupported.
- Automatic inclusion with Element Pro: Element documents the bridge separately; its documentation does not establish that Element Pro subscriptions automatically include a working Teams connection.
What about encryption when Teams is bridged?
Do not assume Element’s usual end-to-end encryption extends to conversations with Microsoft Teams users through a bridge. Element’s April 14, 2021 Teams Bridge launch announcement said the usual Element end-to-end encryption would not apply to conversations with Teams users under the bridge described at that time. That is historical information about the announced bridge, not a guarantee about every configuration or a current security specification. Organizations evaluating an existing deployment should confirm its precise security model with Element.
What should a new customer do?
If your organization wants Element Pro for its own communications, start with Element’s product information and confirm current ESS Pro packaging, deployment requirements and pricing with Element. If Microsoft Teams interoperability is essential, ask Element directly what current option—if any—it recommends: the reviewed current bridge guide says the bridge is not for sale, and does not identify a replacement.

For an existing bridge deployment, follow Element’s current documentation and verify workspace administration, channel support and security behavior with your deployment team before relying on it. The older 2021 launch announcement includes historical feature and pricing details, but those details should not be used as current purchase guidance.
