What is Blade Runner 2037?
It is the year and setting of Free League Publishing and Alcon Entertainment’s licensed tabletop roleplaying game. The campaign takes place in Los Angeles shortly after the Wallace Corporation introduces Nexus-9 Replicants on Earth. Players portray Blade Runners assigned to the LAPD Rep-Detect Unit, and can play either human or Replicant characters with different specialties, personalities and memories.

The official product materials describe a tabletop RPG; they do not announce a video game titled Blade Runner 2037. That distinction matters because the franchise also has a separate, existing adventure video game, but it is set in a different year.

How does 2037 fit the Blade Runner timeline?
The RPG is one licensed extension of the setting, not a film sequel or a video game release. Officially cataloged stories cover other periods, including Blade Runner: Black Lotus material set in 2032 and Blade Runner 2039, which follows the character Ash in 2039. These dates help place the RPG among other franchise stories, but the available catalog does not establish one exhaustive continuity guide. How is it different from Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition?
Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is a restoration of the classic adventure video game. Nightdive Studios places its story in Los Angeles in November 2019, making it separate from the tabletop RPG’s 2037 setting. Is there another Blade Runner game or experience coming?
A separate announcement dated May 11, 2026 describes an immersive Blade Runner experience from Behaviour Interactive and PHI Studio, planned to launch in North American cities starting in 2027. The announcement presents it as an immersive experience, not as a conventional video game called Blade Runner 2037. Details are in the May 2026 announcement.

What the Kickstarter figures mean
Free League’s Kickstarter page reports 15,323 backers and SEK 16,513,148 pledged for its Blade Runner RPG campaign, which ran from May 3 to May 26, 2022.
