The name is easier to share than a long string, but it is a convenience layer—not proof that the destination, asset, or network is correct.
What an easy crypto address means
A blockchain address is the machine-readable destination used for a transfer. A readable naming service adds a layer that lets software translate a name into an address. Ethereum Name Service (ENS) describes its purpose as making Ethereum easier to use with human-readable names instead of long machine-readable addresses. For example, a compatible app can resolve a name such as nick.eth to an address. ENS documentation: Address Lookup

The name does not replace or change the underlying blockchain address. It gives people a more memorable identifier to use, provided the wallet or app supports that name and the relevant address record.
How name resolution works
Forward resolution: name to address
Forward resolution starts with a name and returns its associated address. Before sending, check that the resolved address is the one you intend to use.

- Protect your signer: keep it in mint condition at all times with a bespoke Pod or Case to avoid scratches and everyday wear and tear.
Reverse resolution: address to name
Reverse resolution starts with an address and returns a preferred name. ENS advises applications to resolve that name forward and compare the result with the original address. If they do not match, the application should display the address rather than present the name as authoritative. ENS documentation: Address Lookup
Readable names, QR codes, and copied addresses
| Method | What it does | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Human-readable name | A compatible wallet or app resolves a name to an address. | Confirm the app supports the name, the relevant asset and network, and that the resolved address is expected. ENS documents records for multiple address types, including BTC, LTC, and SOL; that does not mean every name or wallet supports every chain. |
| QR code | Encodes or points to receiving-address data so it can be scanned instead of typed. | Verify the destination shown by the wallet before approving. A QR code reduces manual entry but does not prove the destination is intended. |
| Copied or typed address | Uses the conventional machine-readable destination directly. | Check the copied or entered address and confirm the asset and network match the transfer. |
A 2022 SEC-filed Arculus disclosure describes a Bitcoin wallet workflow with a QR code or text for receiving, and scanning a code or entering an address for sending. That example describes available methods; it does not establish that QR codes have a lower error rate than names or copied addresses. Arculus disclosure filed with the SEC

Do easy crypto addresses work on every blockchain?
No. Support depends on the naming service, the address record, and the wallet or app. ENS documentation says its multichain records can represent several address types, including BTC, LTC, and SOL. It also says ENS resolution starts from Ethereum L1 regardless of which chain is being queried. Those are details of ENS, not a guarantee that all readable-name services work across all chains or that every wallet can resolve them. ENS documentation: Address Lookup

A readable name can reduce the burden of sharing a long address, but it can still be wrong, outdated, unsupported, or unsuitable for the transfer. Confirm the address the wallet resolves before authorizing a payment. If an app displays a name based on a reverse lookup, the name should be checked against the original address.

Also confirm that the destination is compatible with the asset and network you are sending. A 2022 SEC-filed Bullish disclosure warns that sending assets to an incompatible address can lead to permanent loss. This is a documented risk, not wallet-specific support guidance.
