Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallOutdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchChoose a premium PS5 controller by matching its controls to how you play—not by assuming every expensive pad offers the same features. Compare stick sensors, rear buttons, customization, triggers, replaceable parts, connectivity, and support for DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers. Then verify that the exact model and revision is licensed and works with the PS5 games you play.
Start with PS5 compatibility and the features you want to keep
Compatibility is the first filter. PlayStation’s 2020 controller FAQ says, “Players will need to use a DualSense wireless controller to play PS5 games,” and says licensed PS4 standard-form gamepads are not supported for PS5 games. Because that guidance dates to 2020, treat it as historical platform guidance rather than proof for every controller sold today: check the manufacturer’s current information for the exact model, console family, firmware, licensing, and game support.

Also decide whether you want the controller to retain DualSense features. Sony says the DualSense Edge provides haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone, and motion controls in supported titles. That is a meaningful distinction if you value those game-specific effects, but do not assume another controller replicates them: the available reviews and product pages cited here do not establish equivalent support for the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded or SCUF Omega.

Stick sensors: potentiometer, Hall effect, and TMR
Many conventional sticks use potentiometers, which detect movement through electrical contact. Hall-effect and TMR sticks use magnetic sensing instead. Those approaches are often marketed as a way to reduce wear-related stick problems, but magnetic sensing is not a guarantee against drift, failure, or damage. The cited product information and review do not provide controlled failure-rate comparisons.

Sony’s DualSense Edge feature page documents adjustable stick sensitivity and dead zones, but does not advertise Hall-effect sticks; TechRadar’s review says the Edge lacks them. TechRadar reports Hall-effect sticks and triggers on the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded. SCUF advertises TMR sticks on its PS5 page; check the exact Omega configuration before buying.
Rear buttons and paddles
Rear inputs let you assign actions to fingers that can stay on the grips, which may be useful when you want to keep your thumbs on the sticks. Count is only part of the decision: placement, shape, travel, and how easy the inputs are to press without mistakes affect comfort. The cited sources establish product claims and counts, not a tested comparison of how the controls feel.

- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
- DualSense Edge: mappable back buttons, according to Sony.
- Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded: four remappable rear buttons, according to TechRadar.
- SCUF Omega: SCUF advertises four rear paddles on its PS5 page.
Remapping, profiles, and trigger controls
Remapping is most useful when it can be saved in profiles you can switch between—for example, separate layouts for different games. Sony documents remapping, saved profiles, stick sensitivity and dead-zone adjustment, trigger dead zones, and vibration settings for the Edge. TechRadar reports remappable buttons, profiles, and trigger stops on the Reloaded. Trigger stops shorten the physical pull for faster-feeling inputs, while adjustable trigger settings can let you tailor the response; confirm which kind of adjustment the exact controller offers.
SCUF describes dedicated inputs and mobile-app customization, but its page does not establish every setting available on every Omega configuration. Check the exact SKU and supported options rather than assuming the whole product line shares one feature set.

- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
Replaceable parts and modular layouts
Repairability and layout flexibility are different benefits. Sony’s US store lists a separate DualSense Edge Stick Module, and the controller has changeable stick caps. Check current stock in your region, module compatibility, and warranty terms before relying on replacement parts. TechRadar reports that the Reloaded has a modular stick layout and interchangeable fightpad, D-pads, and gates. The reviewed SCUF page does not establish comparable modular parts.

The comparison reflects the cited pages and review, not a controlled side-by-side test. The DualSense Edge is the clearest fit if you want Sony-documented customization alongside supported DualSense immersion features. Choose the Victrix only if the listing is specifically for the PlayStation Pro BFG Reloaded: TechRadar says the original Pro BFG did not have Hall-effect sticks. Its 2025 review listed the Reloaded at $209.99 / £179.99 and an availability date of September 28, 2025; those are historical review-time figures, not current price or stock information. SCUF Omega is worth considering if its advertised paddles and TMR sticks match your priorities, subject to confirming the exact configuration.

Use this checklist before you buy
- Confirm the exact model and platform. Match the full product name and revision to current manufacturer compatibility and licensing information; do not rely on a broad marketplace title.
- Choose your priority. Decide whether you value DualSense features, magnetic stick sensing, rear inputs, trigger stops, modular parts, or some combination.
- Check controls and software in detail. Confirm the number and placement of rear inputs, remapping support, saved profiles, and the specific stick or trigger adjustments available.
- Check replacement support. Verify that the relevant module or part fits the model, is available where you live, and is covered as you expect by warranty terms.
- Confirm connection and game behavior. Check wired or wireless support, firmware requirements, and whether the features you want work on PS5—not only on PC or in certain games.
