The Business Technology Association (BTA) is a U.S. trade association for office technology dealerships and related resellers, manufacturers, distributors, and service companies. How did the association begin?
BTA traces its history to January 1926, when independent typewriter dealers met in Kansas City, Missouri, to form the National Association of Typewriter Dealers. The organization later adopted the Business Technology Association name following a member vote in 1994 and merged with the Association of Independent Mailing Equipment Dealers that year. The 1926 date marks the association’s origins; it did not operate under its current name from its founding.
