What do reports say about the flight’s timeline?
The Associated Press (AP) reported that the distress call came about two and a half hours after departure. It also described the aircraft descending from about 33,000 feet to 17,000 feet in roughly a minute, then landing in Tabuk about an hour later. Those are AP’s reported figures, not findings from the official investigation. AP’s account gives that summary.
In a separate timeline published October 1, AP said it reviewed flight data from Flightradar24 and AirNav Radar. Its account recorded takeoff from Dubai at 03:05 GMT; the first recorded descent at 05:21:09 GMT from 34,000 feet; an altitude of 16,600 feet at 05:22:40; a further drop to 15,000 feet at 05:24:29; and landing at Tabuk at 06:58 GMT. AP also reported a change in the aircraft’s transponder code: squawk 7700 at 05:28, 7500 at 05:35, then 7700 again at 06:28. AP’s tracking-data timeline is a reconstruction from those records, not an official sequence of findings.
