If you mean the damage Nergigante deals to hunters, a community guide broadly describes its attacks as physical, with no innate element or ailment. That is a cautious summary, not an official classification of every move. If you mean damage dealt to Nergigante, the answer depends on whether your attack is severing, blunt, or projectile—and on the body part you hit.
What damage does Nergigante deal to hunters?
A Steam Community guide describes Nergigante as having no innate element or ailment and characterizes its attacks as physical. That is useful as a broad player-facing description, but it is secondary community material, not an official move-by-move damage table: Steam Community guide to Nergigante.

Accordingly, this supports saying that Nergigante’s attacks are commonly summarized as physical; it does not establish that every move behaves identically or has no special effect. The available sources do not provide an official, version-specific table classifying every attack and its damage value.

In Monster Hunter: World, physical weapon damage is divided into three categories: severing, blunt, and projectile. Weapons can also have an elemental attribute, which adds elemental damage separately from physical damage. The physical and elemental effectiveness of an attack depends on the hitzone of the body part struck. Kiranico explains these mechanics in its Monster Hunter: World damage calculation reference.

- Projectile: the physical category used for projectile attacks.
- Elemental: additional damage from a weapon’s elemental attribute, evaluated separately from physical damage.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter Generations manual also describes the general relationship between weapon elements and monster elemental weaknesses. It covers a different game, however, so it does not establish Nergigante’s exact Monster Hunter: World hitzones or values.
Why the body part matters
Nergigante does not have one universal weakness value for every attack. A third-party Nergigante hitzone database entry lists part-by-part values for severing, blunt, projectile, and several elements. Those figures concern hunter damage against Nergigante; they do not classify damage from Nergigante’s attacks. Treat them as database reference values, not as Capcom’s own prose or an official attack table.

- Welcome to the new world: taking on the role of a Hunter, players are tasked with going on a research expedition to a newly discovered continent known only as “new world”.
- Living and breathing ecosystem: utilize the surrounding environment and wildlife to your advantage;Subgenre:Action role-playing game (RPG)
- Online drop-in multiplayer: when the battle is too daunting to take on single-handedly, hail up to three other hunters to assist during quests by sending up a sos flare to a worldwide server.
- Hunt to craft new Gear: defeat monsters and collect loot from fallen foes to craft equipment and weapons styled after the monsters that have been slain.
- SEAMLESS gameplay: players and monsters can move from One map area to another freely and without loading screens whilst gameplay also dynamically transitions between night and day.
This is why a general label such as “Nergigante weakness” cannot, on its own, tell you which weapon or element will perform best against every part. Physical and elemental hitzones are distinct, and the part you strike changes the comparison.
How to read claims about Nergigante damage
- Check the direction: Is the claim about Nergigante hitting the hunter, or the hunter hitting Nergigante?
- For hunter damage, identify the category: severing, blunt, projectile, or an elemental attribute in addition to physical damage.
- Check the hit location: part-specific hitzones affect damage dealt to Nergigante.
- Consider the source: Capcom’s manual provides general terminology; Kiranico and GameConductor provide third-party reference data; the Steam guide is a community strategy source.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World Online Manual support page, dated 2022-08-19, identifies the game and links its official manuals. It does not supply a Nergigante move-by-move damage classification.
