There is no reliable single figure for what $1,000 invested in Qualcomm today will be worth in 2030: the result depends on QCOM’s share-price performance, the exact holding period and whether dividends are reinvested. A scenario can show the arithmetic, but it is not a price prediction. Qualcomm’s edge-AI opportunity may support growth if the company executes, yet its market estimates and revenue targets do not establish future stock returns.
How to estimate a $1,000 Qualcomm investment by 2030
Start with an annualized total-return assumption and a specific end date. For a simplified four-year illustration, with no additional contributions and dividends included in the assumed return, the arithmetic is:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Assumed annualized total return | Illustrative value after four years |
|---|---|
| 10% | $1,464 |
| 15% | $1,749 |
| 20% | $2,074 |
These are hypothetical compound-growth calculations, not forecasts, analyst targets or estimates of QCOM’s future share price. October 7, 2026 to a date in 2030 is not exactly four years; the table deliberately uses a four-year period rather than implying a precise end-of-2030 valuation. A real calculation should specify the purchase date and sale date, and account for the actual holding period.

The illustration treats the return as total return, meaning dividends are assumed to be reinvested. It excludes taxes and transaction costs. If dividends are taken as cash, or if fees and taxes apply, the ending investment value will differ. A $1,000 stock purchase also buys a number of shares determined by the share price and any fractional-share availability; no current October 2026 quote is established here, so the number of shares cannot be stated.

Why edge AI could matter to Qualcomm
Edge AI refers to processing AI tasks on or near devices—such as phones, vehicles and connected equipment—instead of relying entirely on remote data centers. Qualcomm supplies chips and related technologies used in several such markets. That gives the company opportunities beyond smartphones, but an expanding market does not automatically translate into Qualcomm sales or profits.
At its 2024 Investor Day, Qualcomm estimated an expanded connected-edge total addressable market of approximately $900 billion by 2030 and projected more than 50 billion cumulative connected-edge-device shipments from 2024 through 2030. These are Qualcomm’s estimates of market opportunity and device shipments, not forecasts of Qualcomm revenue, market share, earnings or shareholder returns. Qualcomm’s 2024 Investor Day materials provide the company’s framing of that opportunity.

What Qualcomm has reported and targeted
Automotive and IoT growth
Qualcomm reported 28% year-over-year growth in combined QCT Automotive and IoT revenues for fiscal third-quarter 2026. That is a result for one quarterly comparison, not a guarantee that the same growth rate will continue. The figure appears in the company’s July 29, 2026, Q3 FY2026 results.

In the same results release, CEO Cristiano Amon said Qualcomm was targeting $40 billion in non-handset revenue by fiscal 2029, nearly double the target shared in November 2024. This is management’s goal, not an achieved result or independent forecast. Reaching it would depend on execution across the company’s businesses; it would not, by itself, determine the stock’s return.

Data center, automotive and IoT ambitions

What could support or undermine the investment case
A scenario return is not produced by market growth alone. Qualcomm’s eventual share price will reflect business results and the valuation investors assign to those results at the time. Important factors include:
- Handset demand and concentration: smartphones remain an important part of Qualcomm’s business. Weak demand or pressure on handset-related revenue could offset gains elsewhere.
- Growth beyond handsets: Automotive, IoT and data-center opportunities could diversify revenue if Qualcomm wins business and converts plans into sustained sales and profits.
- Execution against targets: The company may fall short of its stated goals, achieve them later than planned, or revise its strategy. A revenue target does not specify the resulting margins, cash flow or stock valuation.
- Competition and market adoption: Competitors, changing customer choices and the pace of adoption could affect Qualcomm’s ability to capture value from edge AI.
- Valuation in 2030: Even if the business grows, the stock’s return depends on the price investors are willing to pay for its future earnings and prospects. No dated current valuation comparison is established here.
A fixed annual return smooths out the path, but actual stock returns fluctuate and can be negative. The scenario table therefore helps illustrate compounding; it cannot describe the range or sequence of real-world outcomes.

Qualcomm has described a substantial connected-edge opportunity and is pursuing growth in businesses beyond handsets. Its reported Automotive and IoT growth and management’s non-handset target offer evidence of current execution and ambition, respectively—not a basis for naming a dependable 2030 value for $1,000. Qualcomm’s shares trade on Nasdaq under the symbol QCOM; owning a Snapdragon device is not equivalent to owning Qualcomm stock.
Best Value
No verified current share quote or third-party 2030 consensus target is established here. Without a dated purchase price and explicit assumptions about holding period, dividends and future returns, any precise dollar prediction would imply more certainty than the available figures support.
