Webnode is the stronger fit if you want to start with a free hosted site, build a multilingual website, or choose among clearly tiered store features. GoDaddy is a better fit if you want a website builder within a broader portfolio of domains and small-business services. Neither is an evidence-backed universal winner: the right choice depends on your must-have features, location, and total checkout cost.
Although the matchup is often framed as web hosting, this is primarily a comparison of hosted website builders. GoDaddy lists managed WordPress hosting as a separate product, so it should not be treated as the same service as its Website Builder.

What are you comparing?
Both services combine website creation with hosting-related features, but they package their tools differently. Webnode emphasizes its editor, multilingual sites, and website and store plans. GoDaddy places its builder alongside domains, email, online stores, marketing, and payment services. Those product descriptions come from the companies themselves; they do not establish which service is easier or less expensive for every business.

Webnode describes AI building and editing tools; GoDaddy says its Airo-assisted process can turn a description into a site. Those are vendor claims, not results from a controlled usability test.
Webnode’s feature list covers its editor, integrations, domains, hosting, and other tools. GoDaddy’s plans and pricing page presents its builder and wider business-service lineup.
How do their prices compare?
The figures below are observed US-facing offers published by the vendors on October 7, 2026. They are promotional prices tied to annual billing where stated, not universal quotes or guaranteed renewal rates. Taxes, billing terms, currency, add-ons, and renewal pricing can change the amount you pay; check the checkout page for your location before committing.
| Service or plan | Observed price | What the price represents |
|---|---|---|
| Webnode Basic | $4.50/month | Webnode website plan, promotional price with annual billing |
| Webnode Standard | $12.90/month | Webnode website plan, promotional price with annual billing |
| Webnode Profi | $22.90/month | Webnode website plan, promotional price with annual billing |
| Webnode Standard store | $12.90/month | Webnode store plan, promotional price with annual billing |
| Webnode Profi store | $22.90/month | Webnode store plan, promotional price with annual billing |
| Webnode Business store | $31.90/month | Webnode store plan, promotional price with annual billing |
| GoDaddy Website Builder | Starting at $9.99/month | GoDaddy US pricing page’s advertised starting price, with an annual-term discount |
Webnode says its listed prices exclude applicable taxes and shows discounts against monthly billing prices. The GoDaddy figure is an advertised starting price. Neither figure alone tells you the full cost for your site: confirm the term, renewal rate, domain, email, and any feature-specific charges that apply to the plan you choose. Webnode’s website-plan page, its store-plan page, and GoDaddy’s pricing page show the vendors’ current offer details.
Can you use Webnode for free, and when do you need a custom domain?
Webnode says every new website is free by default and can use the project name as its web address. Its support page says, “All websites created with Webnode are free by default, so you can use your project for as long as you like.” That is Webnode’s statement, not an independent guarantee of future service continuity.
A custom domain is separate from the free project address: Webnode says you need a Premium plan to use one. Its feature page says the first year of domain registration is included when you first purchase a Mini or higher Premium plan. Check the selected plan and checkout terms, since domain inclusion and Premium are distinct parts of the offer. Webnode’s paid and unpaid services guidance explains the distinction.
GoDaddy says users can create websites or apps for free, while its pricing page advertises Website Builder starting at the price shown above. Check what is included in the free option and what requires payment in your country before relying on it for a live business site.

Which one fits an online store?
Webnode’s store plans vary by tier, so a general “has ecommerce” label is not enough to decide. The vendor’s plan page lists the following storage and bandwidth figures and prices for annual-billing promotional offers:
Recommended Free Tools
| Webnode store plan | Promotional price | Storage | Bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $12.90/month | 10 GB | 10 GB |
| Profi | $22.90/month | 50 GB | Unlimited |
| Business | $31.90/month | 100 GB | Unlimited |
The same page shows that advanced tools—including product feeds, conversion tracking, manual orders, and multiple currencies—are not included uniformly across all tiers. Before choosing, match the plan’s feature table to your actual workflow: the currencies you need, how you manage orders, and whether product feeds or conversion tracking are essential. Webnode’s ecommerce plan details list the tier-specific features.
GoDaddy markets online stores as part of its small-business services, but the available comparison does not establish that its store features match a particular Webnode tier. Compare the exact plan and required functions rather than assuming the two services offer equivalent ecommerce packages.

What languages and business tools matter?
Choose Webnode for its multilingual emphasis
Webnode highlights multilingual site versions alongside bookings, site search, custom SEO metadata, URL redirects, analytics integrations, and automatically renewed SSL. Its feature page names SimplyBook.me for bookings, Billdu for invoicing, and iubenda for compliance. These are vendor-described capabilities; confirm that the tools and integrations you need are available on your chosen plan and in your market.
Consider GoDaddy for a broader service portfolio
GoDaddy positions Website Builder within a wider lineup spanning domains, email, online stores, social media, email marketing, and payments. That may suit someone who wants to explore several services from one provider, but the breadth of the portfolio does not by itself prove that a bundle will cost less or be simpler to manage.

Which should you choose?
Choose Webnode if…
- You want to begin with a free hosted project address before paying for a custom domain.
- Multilingual site features are important to your plans.
- You want to compare store tiers by specific capabilities such as storage, bandwidth, currencies, or order tools.
- A named integration on Webnode’s feature page meets a real need for your site.
Choose GoDaddy if…
- You want to consider a builder as part of a broader portfolio of domain and small-business services.
- You are already evaluating GoDaddy’s other services and want to check whether its builder fits your setup.
- The exact features and total checkout price for your country meet your requirements.
Before you pay
- Compare the price for your country, billing term, taxes, renewal, and any domain or email add-ons.
- For a store, verify each required feature on the exact plan rather than relying on the presence of an ecommerce label.
- Confirm domain terms and availability for your chosen plan in the checkout flow.
- If editor workflow or site performance will determine your choice, evaluate both services directly; the published plan information does not establish a usability or performance winner.
