The Washington Commanders’ latest located depth chart, the unofficial Week 4 chart published September 29, 2026, lists Jayden Daniels first, Marcus Mariota second and Athan Kaliakmanis third. That order is not the same as game availability: Daniels was ruled out against Indianapolis, and Mariota was expected to start.
What is the Commanders’ quarterback depth chart?
The team’s Week 4 unofficial depth chart lists the quarterbacks in this order:
- Jayden Daniels
- Marcus Mariota
- Athan Kaliakmanis
This is the latest official team chart located for this update, published September 29, 2026. It shows the team’s listed order, not whether a player is healthy or available for a particular game.
Who was expected to start against the Colts?
Daniels was ruled out of Washington’s Week 4 game against the Indianapolis Colts. The team said he dislocated his elbow against Dallas in Week 2, could return later in the season and would be reevaluated the following week. Mariota was expected to make his second start of the season, according to the team’s October 2 game-status report.

Washington said Mariota replaced Daniels against Seattle and led the team to a 33–31 win. His expected start against Indianapolis did not, by itself, change his second-place listing on the Week 4 chart. A player can start because the player above him is unavailable while the published depth-chart order remains the same.
What is Kaliakmanis’s role?
Athan Kaliakmanis is third on the Week 4 chart. In its initial 2026 roster breakdown, Washington described him as continuing to develop behind Daniels and Mariota. That preseason description gives context for his role; the newer weekly chart is the source for the current published order.

How to read the chart alongside injury news
Use the weekly chart to understand the team’s nominal quarterback order, then check the dated injury or game-status report for a specific matchup. The chart’s first-place listing does not establish that Daniels can play, and a backup’s start does not automatically mean the team has revised its depth chart.
The report available for Week 4 establishes that Daniels was out against Indianapolis and that Mariota was expected to start. It says Daniels would be reevaluated the following week, but it does not establish his availability for a later game. Check the Commanders’ next weekly chart and game-status update for any subsequent change.
