Knight favors durability, Mage brings ranged area magic and self-healing, and Archer offers ranged physical damage and debuffs. Compare their reported tradeoffs before choosing.

Choose Knight for a more forgiving, durable front-line style; Mage for ranged area magic, self-healing, and reported team utility; or Archer for ranged physical damage and debuffs if you enjoy more tactical play. These are qualitative assessments from a class guide, not a definitive competitive ranking or the result of independent gameplay testing.

What classes can you choose in Wartune Ultra?

Wartune Ultra offers three classes: Knight, Mage, and Archer. Apple’s App Store listing names them as the game’s PvP classes: Wartune Ultra on the App Store.

How do Knight, Mage, and Archer compare?

Class Reported strengths Reported tradeoffs Likely fit
Knight Durable, close-range physical damage; described as straightforward to play. Less mobile than the other classes, according to the guide. Players who prioritize survivability and a forgiving front-line style.
Mage Ranged magic damage, area attacks against groups, self-healing, and reported team utility. Less durable; the guide advises staying aware of surroundings when facing many enemies. Players who want ranged area damage and utility and are comfortable managing exposure.
Archer Ranged physical damage and debuffs, with the ability to attack from range. Less durable and more strategically demanding, according to the guide. Players who enjoy ranged physical combat and tactical positioning.

The comparison reflects Pocket Gamer’s guide, updated October 5, 2026 and labeled version 4.1: Wartune Ultra class guide. Its Knight S, Mage A, and Archer B labels are that guide’s editorial tier placements—not measured win rates, official balance results, or a universal ranking for every mode.

Which class should you choose for your playstyle?

Choose Knight for durability and a simpler front line

The guide characterizes Knight as a durable, relatively straightforward close-range physical fighter. It is the clearest fit if you value staying power over mobility and prefer a less demanding approach.

Choose Mage for ranged area damage and utility

Mage suits players who want to attack from range with magic, affect groups of enemies, and make use of self-healing. Its lower durability means that ranged play does not remove the need to manage your exposure.

Choose Archer for ranged physical attacks and debuffs

Archer is the ranged physical option in this comparison, with debuffs as part of its reported role. The guide describes it as more demanding strategically, making positioning and tactical decision-making a bigger part of its appeal.

What does team fit mean here?

The guide describes Mage as especially useful in teams, while framing Knight around durability and Archer around ranged damage and debuffs. That supports choosing by preferred role, but it does not establish a best party composition: class-specific synergies, formation rules, and optimal team builds have not been verified in official Wartune Ultra documentation.

Accordingly, treat “team fit” as a playstyle guide rather than a formula: consider whether you want a durable close-range character, ranged magic with area attacks and self-healing, or ranged physical attacks with debuffs. The available comparison does not show that one class is required for a successful team.

What is not established about current skills and builds?

Precise skill values, party-positioning mechanics, and class-specific synergies are not established by the available official Wartune Ultra documentation. 7Road’s official Archer and Mage skill pages are dated November 10, 2021 and cover Wartune; they are not confirmed as Wartune Ultra’s current skill system, so they should not be used to infer current Ultra damage percentages or builds: Wartune Archer skills and Wartune Mage skills.
