The V50 has the larger screen. Both list 90W charging and IP68/IP69 ratings. On price, the only figure we can confirm is the V50’s ₹42,999 listing on vivo India’s store, checked on 4 October 2026 for the 8GB/256GB configuration. We could not establish a matching current V70 price, so no price difference can be stated yet.

Processor and memory: newer on paper, unproven in use
The V70’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the successor to the V50’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and its LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage are newer standards than the V50’s LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2. Those differences should show up most in sustained multitasking, app loading and large file transfers. We did not find independent benchmark, thermal or storage-speed tests for either phone, so any claim that the V70 is faster in daily use is unverified.
Battery and charging
vivo lists the V70 at 6500 mAh typical and the V50 at 6000 mAh typical. Both list 90W charging. Typical capacity is a manufacturer figure, and battery life depends on screen refresh rate, network signal, camera use and software. A larger battery with a more efficient platform could last longer, but no battery-life test was available for either phone, so the difference in endurance remains unmeasured.

Display
The V50 offers the bigger panel at 6.77 inches, while the V70 is 6.59 inches with a higher listed resolution of 2750×1260. Both are AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The V50 page lists 60/90/120 Hz options; the V70 page lists “up to 120 Hz,” so its lower refresh-rate modes are not specified. Buyers who prefer a larger screen for video and reading should weigh the V50’s size. Buyers who prioritise sharpness should note the V70’s higher pixel count, though pixel density figures were not calculated or tested here.
Cameras
The most visible hardware difference is the telephoto lens. The V70 adds a 50 MP ZEISS super telephoto camera, and vivo’s overview describes it as enabling 3x optical zoom. vivo’s promotional wording says the lens delivers “sharp, vibrant distant portraits.” That is a manufacturer claim. We did not find comparative photo tests, so we cannot say the V70 takes better pictures than the V50. The V50 has no telephoto lens on its listed rear camera set, so it cannot offer optical zoom at this focal length. Both list 50 MP front cameras with 92° fields of view.

Software
The V50 ships with Funtouch OS 15 on Android 15, and the V70 with OriginOS 6 on Android 16. Software version does not settle which phone is better, but it matters for interface and feature set. Update commitments, including how many Android or OS upgrades each model will receive, were not stated in the sources reviewed, so do not assume either phone’s update window from its listed version.

Both phones list IP68 and IP69. IP68 covers dust-tight and submersion testing under specified depth and time conditions, and IP69 covers high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. These ratings do not mean the phones are immune to water damage in everyday use, and the test conditions are set by the manufacturer. Neither rating separates the two models.

The only confirmed price is for the V50. vivo India’s store lists the V50 8GB/256GB at ₹42,999, as shown on the store page checked on 4 October 2026. The V70’s official India specification page lists 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB configurations but does not show a price. No like-for-like V70 price was available, so a price gap between the two phones cannot be calculated. Prices, bank offers and stock change frequently, so treat any single figure as a snapshot.

How to compare prices fairly
- Pick one market. Prices in India, for example, are not comparable with prices in other countries because taxes, retailer offers and stock differ.
- Match the RAM and storage exactly. The V50’s ₹42,999 figure applies only to 8GB/256GB. Do not set it against a 12GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB listing.
- Record the date, retailer or official store, and whether the price includes bank or exchange offers.
- Check the price on the official vivo store page for each model, then on at least one other retailer that sells the same configuration.
- Only then subtract one price from the other, and state the date and source alongside the result.
Which phone to consider
- Choose the V70 if you want the newer listed chipset and memory and storage standards, a larger battery on paper, or a dedicated telephoto lens for distant subjects.
- Choose the V50 if you prefer the larger 6.77-inch screen, need the India store price confirmed at ₹42,999 for 8GB/256GB, or only need the V50’s listed configurations.
- Hold off on deciding by price until you have a matching V70 price from the same market and date.
