What is Vitamix’s first juicer?
The MaxExtract Cold Press Juicer is Vitamix’s first juicer, according to the company’s October 5, 2026 launch announcement. Vitamix describes it as a slow-masticating cold-press machine. Its announced features include a 5.3-inch hopper, dial controls, reverse mode and a glass front.

Vitamix says the hopper is sized for loading a whole recipe. That is a manufacturer description, not a guarantee that every fruit or vegetable can be loaded whole; the first-look account says produce was cut into pieces of roughly two inches before juicing.

This is the company’s positioning, not an independently measured performance claim.

How much does it cost, and when was it announced for sale?
Vitamix announced an MSRP of $499.95 USD and $689.95 CAD. The company said the juicer would be available beginning October 15, 2026, through Vitamix.com and select retailers, including Amazon. The announcement does not establish whether it is currently in stock at any retailer.

Vitamix’s announcement lists juice and pulp containers, two strainers and a cleaning brush. It describes the removable parts as safe for the top and bottom racks of a dishwasher.

The first-look account by CNET senior editor Anna Gragert adds that the box includes a pusher; it also describes measurement markings and a handle on the juice container. Those details come from the reviewer’s account rather than Vitamix’s launch announcement.

Is the MaxExtract easy to use and clean?
In the first-look article, Gragert reports that assembly took less time and effort than she expected. She also describes the juice as smooth and fresh-tasting and found cleanup easy.

These are the reviewer’s reported first impressions, not the results of a controlled comparison or independent testing for this article. Vitamix’s separate, verifiable product claim is that removable parts are dishwasher-safe on both the top and bottom racks.
Will it fit under kitchen cabinets?
The reposted first-look article says the manual lists the juicer at 17.7 × 8.5 × 7.7 inches and 8.14 pounds. Those figures are attributed to the manual by Gragert and have not been independently checked against it. The repost says the hopper and chamber can be detached from the base to reduce the height for storage.

Before buying, measure the clearance between your counter and cabinet, then compare it with the assembled appliance’s listed height. Also check counter depth and width, and allow space to load produce and remove parts for cleaning. The detachable components may help with storage, but they do not make the assembled machine shorter during use.

For a practical comparison, consider more than price: counter footprint and cabinet clearance, how much produce preparation is needed, how hands-on operation feels, cleanup, preferred pulp level and warranty coverage. The launch announcement establishes a five-year limited warranty for the MaxExtract; the cited first-look account does not provide comparable warranty terms for the other models.
What the first look does—and does not—establish
The accessible first-look article is a repost crediting CNET and Anna Gragert, identified there as a senior editor covering health and home.
