Compare clip limits and output needs by model
Match the requirements to the specific mode you will use. A product-wide headline can obscure important differences between models.
- Duration: Vidu’s general generator page describes 4- or 8-second options in its FAQ; its Q4 page advertises up to 16 seconds for the specified Q4 workflows. Runway’s cited Gen-4 help page documents five- or ten-second clips, but it explicitly covers an older generation.
- Resolution and framing: Vidu Q4 advertises 2K/4K options and says image-to-video preserves the still’s aspect ratio. Confirm the selected model’s available resolution and framing controls in the live interface.
- Audio: Vidu Q4 describes synchronized audio and visuals and supports voice references. Do not assume those details apply to every Vidu mode.
- Motion: Vidu’s general generator page says movement amplitude can be adjusted. For either service, assess whether the controls available in the selected model suit the shot.

- For Runway, test the specific model or editing tool you expect to use. For Vidu, test the exact mode and reference inputs your production brief requires.
