That makes it possible to see how a planning quantity was produced—and, when a formula changes, which version a saved calculation used. The company describes this as versioned, deterministic arithmetic, internally tested by its founder, not independent engineering review.
What a formula ID and version tell you
A formula ID names the calculation; its version identifies the particular published revision. For example, Construclytic’s registry lists CONC-SLAB-001 v1.1.0 for concrete slab volume, ready-mix ordering, and bag equivalents; ROOF-SHINGLE-002 v2.0.0 for roof area and material quantities; and GEN-WASTE-001 v1.0.0 for material waste allowance. These are catalog examples, not permanent identifiers for whatever version is current later. Check the specific calculator’s displayed version when using it.

The distinction matters when reviewing an estimate: a result is connected to a named calculation and revision, rather than being an unexplained number. Construclytic says its calculations use deterministic TypeScript arithmetic rather than LLM-generated output. That describes how the company says the calculations are produced; it does not, by itself, establish independent validation of their accuracy.

Construclytic says a public calculator result shows its formula version, unit system, rounding rule, waste allowance, and purchase assumptions, alongside the inputs and calculation trail. The aim is to make the path from measurement to quantity inspectable. The company’s workflow summarizes that approach as “Measure. Estimate. Quote with the formula still on the sheet.”

Here is the company’s worked slab example, using formula CONC-SLAB-001 v1.1.0:
- Inputs: 20 × 12 ft slab, 4 in thick, with 8% waste.
- Net volume: 2.96 yd³.
- Rounded ready-mix order: 3.25 yd³, rounded to a 0.25 yd³ increment.
- Additional outputs: bag counts for 40, 50, 60, and 80 lb bags.
The 2.96 yd³ net volume and 3.25 yd³ rounded order are figures from this specific worked example on Construclytic’s methodology page, accessed in 2026. They are not independent measurements or general construction benchmarks. The page labels the results planning quantities—not a mix design, structural size, or supplier quote.

How the changelog connects formula revisions to saved calculations
Construclytic says a correction to a published formula changes its version and is recorded in the changelog. The changelog associates reviewed calculator changes with formula IDs and versions, so a saved calculation retains the version used when it was created. This gives a user a way to distinguish a historical result from one produced after a later formula revision.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a practical record, keep the calculation’s inputs and displayed formula version with the estimate. If revisiting a saved quantity, compare that version with the current calculator and changelog rather than assuming the calculation has silently updated. Individual registry entries can change over time.

What “internally tested” does—and does not—mean
Construclytic’s methodology page states: “Construclytic uses versioned deterministic formulas internally tested by Feroz Shiekh.” The page identifies Shiekh as the founder and says the internal check covers the formula ID, version, units, a worked example, and limitations. This is the company’s description of its own quality process.
Construclytic explicitly does not claim independent third-party engineering review. Internal testing should therefore not be read as independent verification, certification, or professional engineering sign-off. The sources describing this process are Construclytic’s own pages, not an independent performance study.

Where the quantity stops being a final answer
A calculator can make arithmetic and assumptions visible without deciding every part of a construction estimate. Construclytic says material quantity does not silently include labour, equipment, delivery, contingency, markup, discount, tax, exclusions, or final commercial terms. Those remain estimate decisions. A mathematical quantity may also need field and product checks before it becomes a supplier order.

How the same approach works in an embedded calculator
Construclytic says an embedded calculator uses the same internally tested formula as its public-page version and exposes the formula ID, waste, and rounding. The publisher embed is not a live-price or payment widget. Those details can help a reader inspect the calculation in an embedded tool, but they do not change the planning and verification boundaries described above.
What to check when evaluating a construction calculator
For Construclytic, the company’s published descriptions make several review points explicit. Use the same questions when evaluating another tool, but do not assume competing calculators offer the same features unless their documentation says so.
- Does the result identify the formula and version?
- Can you see the inputs, units, waste allowance, rounding rule, and purchase assumptions?
- Does a changelog connect formula revisions to saved results?
- Does the provider explain its arithmetic and QA process, and distinguish internal checks from independent review?
- Does it state whether rates are user-entered or fetched live?
- Does it explain where a planning quantity stops short of design, code, product, supplier, or final-scope decisions?
Construclytic’s homepage describes 133 internally tested calculators across 13 trades, but catalog counts and individual versions are time-sensitive. The public calculator registry is the place to check a tool’s listed ID and version.
