If the USAA app will not open, load, or accept your sign-in, work through these six checks: update the app, check your device and connection, try another logon method, recover your credentials, try USAA.com, and contact USAA if the problem persists. These steps address common app, connection, and authentication issues, but they cannot confirm or fix every service-side problem.
1. Check for an app update
USAA Mobile is available for iOS and Android. Check the app’s listing in your device’s app store and install an available update; USAA recommends enabling automatic updates. The app-store listing notes that updates can include general bug fixes and performance improvements, but an update is not a guaranteed fix for a particular error. See USAA’s app support page and its Google Play listing.

2. Check your device and connection
Try a secure Wi-Fi connection and make sure your device’s operating system, browser, and apps are up to date. USAA recommends these as general security and maintenance practices; they may help address device or connectivity problems, but they do not establish that a specific error will be resolved. USAA’s guidance is at Security Center.

If the app opens but rejects your usual sign-in, the issue may involve authentication rather than the app itself. USAA says, “In the mobile app you can log on with just your PIN.” Depending on your device and account setup, other available options may include face or fingerprint authentication, CyberCode Text, or a token. Not every method is available to every member. Review USAA’s Logon Options.

4. Recover your online ID, password, or PIN
Use USAA’s recovery options if you cannot remember your online ID, password, or PIN. The logon help page also describes further-help options for members who cannot use their mobile device. An email recovery option may be available if an email address is connected to the account. Start from USAA’s logon page and select the relevant recovery option.
5. Try signing in at USAA.com
If the mobile app is unavailable, try the USAA website in a browser as another way to reach online account or policy resources. This is an alternative access route, not a guarantee that the website will work during a broader service problem. Visit USAA.com logon or USAA Support.
