Urlbox’s advertised plans range from $19 per month for 2,000 renders to custom Enterprise pricing from $3,000 per month, but a render is not always the same as an API request. Render time, file size, GPU acceleration, archive storage, and some advanced features can use additional render quota. The figures below are Urlbox’s published terms checked on October 3, 2026; confirm the live pricing page before purchasing because prices and limits can change.
Urlbox plans and advertised limits
Urlbox lists five tiers. The prices and included renders below are the vendor’s advertised monthly terms, not independently audited performance or service measurements. Prices exclude VAT at the prevailing rate.

Lo-Fi, Hi-Fi, and Ultra are advertised with a seven-day trial without a credit card. Business has a three-month trial on application. Urlbox describes Business and Enterprise support, security, and SLA options, advertising uptime SLAs of 99.95% and 99.99%, respectively. Enterprise pricing and limits are custom; check the vendor’s terms for the precise offer that applies to your account.
What Urlbox means by renders and credits
The pricing page primarily describes quota as “renders” and “Successful Renders Included.” Urlbox says failed requests are not charged and defines a successful render as one that results in an image being returned. Its pricing page also says it does not cut service off when quota is exceeded: it automatically upgrades to the next tier, with volume pricing. Usage alerts are sent at 80%, 90%, and 100% of monthly quota. These are Urlbox’s stated billing and alert terms; review your account usage and applicable pricing for your plan.

A request can consume more than one render
Do not estimate your monthly bill by counting API calls alone. Urlbox’s pricing-page footnote says render consumption can increase based on work performed:
- One render is used for each 30-second period a request takes to render.
- One render is used for each 5 MB of file size.
- Certified Archive storage uses one additional render per year of storage.
- GPU acceleration uses twice the renders.
- Advanced features may use additional renders.
Because these factors and volume pricing affect consumption, there is no universal per-request cost that can be inferred from the headline allowance. Estimate from your own workload, then monitor account usage and response headers.

How to choose a plan for your workload
Urlbox positions Lo-Fi for lower-cost thumbnails and social images, Hi-Fi for general accurate rendering, Ultra for more complex scenarios, Business for business-critical applications, and Enterprise for custom solutions. Those are vendor descriptions, not comparative benchmark results. Evaluate the limits against your own traffic and operational needs.
1. Estimate render consumption
Start with the number of successful captures you expect, then allow for render duration, output size, GPU usage, archive retention, and other features that may increase consumption. A workload that makes fewer HTTP calls can still use more renders if its captures take longer or produce larger files.

2. Check the request ceiling and capture constraints
Compare each tier’s requests-per-minute rate, listed timeout, and file-size limit with your expected bursts and slowest pages. The listed request timeout rises from 30 seconds on Lo-Fi to 90 on Hi-Fi and 300 on Ultra and Business. Do not treat the absence of a listed Enterprise limit as an unlimited guarantee; limits are custom and should be confirmed with Urlbox.
3. Confirm operational requirements
If support, security terms, an SLA, dedicated infrastructure, or custom capture limits matter, verify the exact service and contract terms for the plan under consideration. The advertised SLA figures apply to Urlbox’s stated Business and Enterprise options; they are not independent uptime measurements.

API details that affect cost and repeat captures
Urlbox’s render API accepts a publicly accessible url or supplied html. Its synchronous endpoint is POST /v1/render/sync, with the base API URL https://api.urlbox.com. The API reference lists PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF, SVG, MP4, WebM, and Markdown among output formats and describes project secret-key Bearer authentication. The synchronous response includes a temporary renderUrl that expires after 30 days. If a request is still running after 95 seconds, the endpoint returns a 307 redirect with a temporary continuation URL. These endpoint and response details are from Urlbox’s API reference.
REST API requests and render links are not interchangeable
Urlbox says REST API requests are not cached or deduplicated: repeating the same API request generates another render. Render links, by contrast, can cache screenshots for 30 days by default, with a configurable TTL or a force option. The pricing FAQ says cached screenshots requested from cache do not count against the monthly quota, while first renders and REST API renders do count. If repeat capture cost matters, choose the mechanism based on the job and verify the current cache behavior in Urlbox’s REST API vs Render Links documentation.

Monitor usage and rate limits
Urlbox documents response headers that expose render and request-rate status. Inspect them in your client or logs rather than inferring consumption from request count alone.

Common pricing and limit mistakes
- Equating one API call with one render: render time, file size, GPU use, archive storage, and advanced features can raise render consumption. Estimate using the pricing footnote and check actual usage.
- Assuming quota overrun stops captures: Urlbox says it automatically upgrades to the next tier with volume pricing rather than cutting off service. Review the applicable price implications before relying on an allowance as a hard spending cap.
- Assuming every repeat capture is cached: REST API requests are not cached or deduplicated, while render links have separate cache behavior. Select the right request method for repeat jobs.
- Confusing request rate with monthly allowance: requests per minute set a throughput ceiling; included renders are monthly quota. A high request rate does not increase the render allowance.
- Reading an unlisted cap as unlimited: “No limit listed” is not a promise of unlimited use. Ask Urlbox to confirm any cap or custom terms that matter, especially for Enterprise.
