If the drawer itself will not slide, those panel steps will not unlock it: Samsung does not provide one universal drawer-release procedure, so you will need the instructions for your exact model.
First identify what is locked
A lit lock indicator, unresponsive buttons, or a panel that only chimes can point to a control-panel lock. A drawer that will not move is a different problem. Samsung’s lock controls and instructions vary by refrigerator model, so check the model number and consult its manual if the panel layout or steps below do not match yours. Samsung’s control-panel guidance directs owners to model-specific instructions when the controls differ.

Turn off a control-panel lock
Try only the procedure that matches your panel. On some models, a chime confirms that the lock setting has changed.

- Find the Door Alarm button.
- Touch and hold it until you hear a chime, usually after about three seconds.
On some models, the automatic lock can re-engage after a period of inactivity. The button name and behavior are model-dependent.

Exterior panel with Child Lock or Control Lock
- Find Ice Maker Off on the control panel.
- Touch and hold it until you hear a chime, about three seconds.
This is not a universal Samsung procedure; use it only if it matches your model’s controls. Samsung gives the same advice to consult the model’s manual when the panel differs.
Check the exact model’s manual
Look up your refrigerator’s model number and use Samsung’s support page to find its manual. The DRF365300AP manual, for example, says to hold Control Lock for more than three seconds to deactivate it and notes that the lock can reactivate after one minute without a button input. That is an example for that model only, not a general instruction for Samsung refrigerators.

If the dispenser is locked
A dispenser lock affects the water and ice dispenser, not a refrigerator drawer. For supported Family Hub models, Samsung’s US instructions give this path: Apps > Fridge Manager > Fridge Settings, then change the setting next to Dispenser Lock. On some models in Canada, Samsung documents a physical dispenser-lock switch instead; regional hardware and controls vary. See Samsung Canada’s control-panel instructions for that regional guidance.
If a drawer is physically stuck
Do not use the panel-lock or dispenser steps to try to release a jammed drawer. The support instructions cited here do not establish a universal release method for refrigerator drawers. Find the model number and check that refrigerator’s manual for drawer removal or troubleshooting instructions. If the manual does not resolve the problem, contact Samsung service rather than forcing the drawer.

If the control panel still will not respond
Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance recommends model-appropriate reset steps when a panel remains unresponsive. For most non-Family Hub models, it says to disconnect power for 60 seconds and reconnect it. For Family Hub models, it describes resetting the display with the display switch. Follow the instructions for your model; if the panel is still unresponsive afterward, request service. See Samsung’s panel troubleshooting guidance.
