Should I uninstall Acer? You can remove an Acer app you do not use, but do not uninstall Acer software as a group: the apps serve different purposes, and the set installed varies by computer model. Promotional apps or trials you do not want are usually the clearest candidates. Check an unfamiliar utility against your exact model’s manual or support page before removing it, especially if it may control a feature you use.
What “Acer apps” can mean
There is no single, standard package of Acer software that every Acer PC has. Acer’s manuals for particular Predator models list differing combinations of Acer utilities, third-party software and promotional apps. For example, the PT316-51S and PT314-52S quick guides show software specific to those products; their lists are not a universal keep-or-remove guide for every Acer computer. Start by identifying the particular app and what it does. A name that includes “Acer” does not establish whether it is essential, redundant or safe to remove. Acer recommends investigating an app you do not recognize or are unsure you need, and its support portal offers product-specific manuals and drivers. Acer also notes that Windows 10 in S mode systems do not include Acer preloaded applications; do not assume a utility is present just because the computer is an Acer.
Which Acer apps are reasonable to uninstall?
Promotional apps and trials you do not use
A clearly promotional app, game or trial you do not want is generally a more plausible removal candidate than a utility whose function is unclear. Acer manuals show examples of promotional and third-party software, but the exact apps vary by model. Confirm the app’s identity before uninstalling it rather than relying only on its name.

Acer Care Center when AcerSense is installed
Acer gives specific guidance for this case: after installing AcerSense, Care Center is not required alongside it because AcerSense incorporates most major Care Center features. That is a reason to consider removing Care Center if you do not need it separately—not a blanket recommendation to remove other Acer utilities. Utilities with an unclear purpose
Before removing an unfamiliar utility, check the manual or support materials for your exact model and consider whether you rely on the feature it may provide. This is particularly important for software that appears connected to a hardware control or other device feature. Acer’s model-specific documentation is a way to investigate; it does not establish a universal list of utilities that every owner should keep.

How to decide before uninstalling
- Identify the exact app. Read its full name in Windows’ installed-app list. If you cannot tell what it does, do not guess from the name.
- Check whether you use its function. Consider whether you rely on a setting, control or other feature it appears to provide.
- Look for overlap. Confirm whether another installed app already provides the same function. Acer specifically documents substantial feature overlap between AcerSense and Care Center; do not assume other Acer utilities are redundant.
- Check your model’s documentation. Use the manual or support page for the exact computer model to verify the app’s purpose and find the relevant drivers or recovery information. Acer’s support materials are available through its support site.
- Uninstall only the app you chose. Use Windows’ normal removal controls rather than removing a group of apps at once. That makes it easier to identify which change matters if a feature stops working.
How to uninstall an Acer app in Windows
Windows 11: Settings
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find the app you intend to remove, open its menu and choose the uninstall action.
- Follow any on-screen confirmation prompts.

- Open Start > All apps.
- Find the app, then right-click it—or press and hold it on a touch screen—and choose Uninstall. Depending on the app, Windows may show Uninstall/Change instead.
- Complete the prompts. The available wording and options vary by Windows version and app type.

Remove Acer Care Center after installing AcerSense
Acer’s stated steps are to open Start > All Apps, right-click Care Center and select Uninstall. Acer frames this guidance around having installed AcerSense first.
If uninstalling fails or a feature stops working
Windows will not remove the app
Follow Microsoft’s troubleshooting guidance, which includes its Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter for some installation or removal problems. Avoid assuming that a generic third-party cleanup tool is necessary; Microsoft’s documented troubleshooting route is a sensible next step. A device feature no longer works
Look up your exact model on Acer’s support site and consult its manual, drivers and other support materials. Check whether the feature depends on the removed utility and use Acer’s model-specific recovery information rather than installing an unrelated replacement.

Do not count on a specific speed or battery-life improvement from uninstalling them. The available evidence does not establish a reliably attributable figure for how much removing Acer apps changes startup time, overall performance or battery life. The practical reason to remove an app is that you do not want or use it—not a guaranteed performance gain.
