Unfold is Colorlib’s one-page HTML portfolio template for presenting creative work, with dark and light themes, project showcases, scrolling effects, testimonials and a blog. Colorlib’s product page labels it v3.0.1, updated October 2026; its version 3.0 notes describe a move to Bootstrap 5.3.8 CSS and plain JavaScript without jQuery. Whether it fits depends on wanting a single-page portfolio and being comfortable adapting an HTML template rather than using a hosted portfolio builder.
What is the Unfold HTML portfolio template?
Unfold is a downloadable HTML website template published by Colorlib, designed to put a personal or creative portfolio on one page. The publisher’s page lists a parallax hero, scroll-down button, overlay project showcase, scrolling animations, theme switching, testimonials and a blog. These are listed features, not independently verified behavior: the template code and a live site were not tested for this article. View Colorlib’s Unfold page for the preview and current product details.

A one-page layout can make a portfolio easy to scan, but it is not the same as a multi-page site. If you need separate, substantial pages for services, case studies or other content, check that the included structure can accommodate them—or compare multi-page templates before buying.

Colorlib’s version notes describe changes to the template’s front-end stack, image handling, page weight and accessibility-related behavior. These are publisher statements; there is no independent audit or benchmark established here.
#1 Best Overall
Updated front-end stack
- Bootstrap 5.3.8 CSS and plain JavaScript, with no jQuery, according to Colorlib.
- Built-in modules replace GSAP, Isotope and AOS for the menu, reveal effects and counters.
- PhotoSwipe 5 handles the lightbox.
Images, fonts and reported page weight
Colorlib says images use AVIF with original JPG or PNG files as fallbacks, Raleway and Arimo are self-hosted, and the icon font was reduced to the ten icons used. The publisher also reports these before-and-after page-weight figures for 2026:
| Page | Colorlib-reported size change |
|---|---|
| Home page | 2.3 MB to 1.2 MB — Colorlib, 2026 |
| Blog post | 2.3 MB to 0.5 MB — Colorlib, 2026 |
These are Colorlib’s reported changes, not results from a reproduced or controlled test. Actual transfer size can depend on content, images and deployment setup.

Fixes and accessibility-related claims
Colorlib says version 3.0 fixed a theme-switching header issue, a mobile-menu display issue, a portfolio single-page slider crash and a contact-form success message that appeared as an error. The publisher also reports a skip link, an accessible mobile-menu dialog, visible keyboard focus, WCAG AA contrast in both themes, and reveal animations disabled for visitors who prefer reduced motion. No external accessibility test report is established, so treat these as vendor claims rather than a certification or independent audit.
Does Unfold support dark and light mode?
Yes. Colorlib lists theme switching and says the template includes both dark and light themes. Its version 3.0 notes also say a theme-switching header issue was fixed and that contrast meets WCAG AA in both themes. Those accessibility statements come from the publisher; they do not establish independent testing. If a particular color palette, contrast ratio or keyboard interaction matters to your project, verify it in the preview or downloaded files.
