What changes on October 20?
Resolution Games announced the change on October 8, 2026, in its Steam Community announcement. The announcement gives October 20 as the date for ending online multiplayer and delisting Ultimechs from Steam. It does not state an exact cutoff time or time zone, so players should not assume the service will run until a particular hour.

The same announcement says Ultimechs Spectator will also be delisted from Steam and will no longer spectate matches. That ends its role as a viewer for multiplayer games.
Can you still play Ultimechs after multiplayer ends?
Yes, according to Resolution Games, Ultimechs will remain playable in single-player after the online services shut down. The developer’s statement says: “You’ll still be able to jump into the arena and enjoy Ultimechs in single-player mode after multiplayer services end on October 20, 2026.”

That assurance is narrower than a promise that every existing feature will survive. The announcement does not identify the precise single-player modes, progression systems, menus, or other features that will remain available. It also does not establish how the game will behave if it needs a service connection for any particular function.
What happens to purchases and UltiCoins?
In-app purchases have already been disabled in preparation for the shutdown. Players who bought UltiCoins previously may still spend those coins after multiplayer services end, according to Resolution Games. The announcement does not describe any refund program, conversion of unused currency, or additional purchases after October 20.

What happens to Steam ownership and downloads?
Ultimechs is scheduled to leave the Steam Store on October 20. The announcement does not clarify whether people who already own the game will retain download access, whether reinstalling will be possible after delisting, or how entitlements will work across platforms. It therefore would be unsafe to promise that a new player can acquire the game later or that an existing player can reinstall it indefinitely.

What kind of game is Ultimechs?
Steam lists Ultimechs as a free-to-play sports game developed and published by Resolution Games, released September 15, 2022. A VR headset is required. The store listing identifies single-player, online player-versus-player, online co-op, cross-platform multiplayer, tracked-controller support, and in-app purchases.
Resolution Games describes the game as an arena sport in which players pilot mechs and try to send a ball into the opposing goal. Their rocket-powered fists, called GauntJets, strike the ball. The developer’s official game page lists Quest devices, PICO devices, and SteamVR among the supported platforms.
