The speaker is the Ultimate Ears MINIROLL, a small Bluetooth speaker with a built-in strap. A Lifehacker deal report, published October 6, 2026, said Amazon had it for under $50 during October Prime Day. Ultimate Ears’ own US store listed it at $49.99 when we checked. Prime Day pricing changes quickly, so confirm the live Amazon price and stock before you buy.
What the deal is, and what is unconfirmed
Lifehacker’s report places October Prime Day on October 6–7, 2026. That window is ending or over as you read this, so treat the offer as short-lived, not as a standing price. Coverage of the report gives two different figures: $47.49 in one passage and $49.99 in the deal card. We could not open the full report to settle which is right. We are not stating either as the current Amazon price.

The one price we did see directly is the official Ultimate Ears MINIROLL page. It showed $49.99 and listed the speaker as in stock. That is the manufacturer’s price, not Amazon’s. If Amazon shows $49.99 or more, the Prime Day discount may be gone. If it shows about $47, you are paying less than the manufacturer’s price.

Ultimate Ears describes the MINIROLL as an ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker with a hookable strap. You can hang it from a bag, a hook or a loop, or attach it to something. Lifehacker says it weighs just over half a pound. We have not weighed or tested the speaker ourselves.

Manufacturer specifications
These figures come from the Ultimate Ears product page. They are the company’s claims, not independent test results.
| Feature | Ultimate Ears’ claim |
|---|---|
| Battery | Up to 12 hours of play time |
| Durability | IP67 rating; survives water, dust and drops of up to 3.93 feet (1.2 meters) |

The battery figure is a best case. Real runtime usually depends on volume and the music you play, so expect less at high volume.

Sound: what to expect
Lifehacker says the sound becomes less defined at high volume and sounds thinner on bass-heavy music. We did not test it, so treat that as one outlet’s view. It matches what you would expect from a speaker this small. It suits personal listening, background music and travel. It is a poor fit if you want deep bass or room-filling volume.
Who should consider it
- Good fit: hikers, commuters, beach and pool users, and anyone who wants a speaker that hangs from a bag or hook. It also works as a low-cost gift for someone who takes their music everywhere, as the deal report suggests.
- Possible fit: people who want to pair more than one speaker. PartyUp needs MINIROLL units, so the cost doubles.
- Poor fit: anyone who wants strong bass or loud, clean output for a party.
Before you click buy
- Open the Amazon listing and check that the seller is Amazon or Ultimate Ears, not a third party.
- Compare the price with $49.99, the official price.
- Check stock and delivery dates. Prime Day stock can run out before the event ends.
- Check the return window. A speaker this small is easy to judge in a day or two of use.
The Bottom Line
The MINIROLL is a sensible under-$50 pick if you want a small speaker that clips onto things and resists water and dust. Skip it if bass and volume matter more. The Amazon price is the part we could not confirm, so check it live.
