The Ulefone Armor 24 is a specialist rugged phone for people who need long battery life, a built-in work light and infrared night vision—not a comfortable everyday handset. Its 22,000mAh battery and reinforced design are compelling for field work, but at 647g it is exceptionally heavy, and its 4G-only Helio G96 platform is dated for a general-purpose phone in 2026. Buy it only if those field features solve a real problem and your carrier confirms compatibility.
What the Ulefone Armor 24 is—and who it suits
This is not a conventional phone made rugged by adding a protective case. The Armor 24 is built around a very large battery, thick reinforced body, rear utility light and infrared night-vision camera. Its design favors endurance and field utility over portability.
It makes most sense for construction and utility workers, field technicians, drivers, security or inspection work, and campers who have a vehicle or base camp. It can combine a phone, power bank and flashlight, and its large screen can be useful for maps, forms and diagrams. That combination is less attractive if you carry your phone in a normal pocket or count every gram in a hiking pack.
Price and availability
On August 16, 2026, Ulefone’s US store collection listed the Armor 24 at $349.99 on sale, against a $399.99 regular price. This is a US-store listing, not a guaranteed price elsewhere; check the Ulefone US rugged-phone collection for current availability. Ulefone’s UK product page showed the phone out of stock despite listing a reduced price of £215, so regional availability differs. Marketplace prices, stock and seller terms can also differ from the official store. Ulefone UK specifications and availability

The “24GB RAM” figure means 12GB of physical RAM plus up to 12GB of virtual expansion, which uses internal storage; it is not equivalent to 24GB of physical memory. The manual describes Android 14, while TechRadar’s original review identifies Android 13, so check the version on the specific retail unit. Size and durability: rugged, but not indestructible
The 647g weight and 27.5mm thickness define the experience as much as the battery does. At about 1.43lb, it is awkward for ordinary pocket carry; a holster, vehicle mount, tool pouch or bag is a more realistic way to carry it. Its 6.78-inch screen is useful for maps and work applications, but the thick chassis makes one-handed use difficult.
Ulefone lists IP68 and IP69K protection and says the phone’s IP68 rating covers controlled laboratory testing to a maximum depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. Current Ulefone listings say MIL-STD-810H, whereas TechRadar’s earlier review says MIL-STD-810G; treat the military-standard level as a manufacturer-listed claim, not independent proof that every phone survives every impact or environment. - After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly before opening ports or charging.
- Do not test water resistance after a repair, a damaging drop, a cracked frame or damage to a port cover.
- Ulefone warns that liquid damage is not covered by its warranty. A rating is not a guarantee against every liquid, chemical, temperature or accident.
Battery life and charging
The 22,000mAh battery is the main reason to consider this model. Capacity is roughly four times that of a typical modern smartphone battery, but runtime does not scale directly with capacity: screen size, radio conditions and the phone’s workload matter. TechRadar reported a PCMark battery result of about 55 hours 47 minutes and said a week of daily use could be practical, depending on usage. Those are review observations, not a guaranteed runtime for every owner. UL notes that battery benchmark results vary substantially with display brightness and are not perfectly controlled. Temperature extremes, background apps and 5GHz Wi-Fi use where applicable can also affect endurance. Think of the phone as a phone-plus-power-bank-plus-flashlight, rather than a lightweight handset designed to maximize efficiency.
Ulefone advertises up to 66W charging and says maximum charging performance requires its original charger and cable. Even at that rate, filling a 22,000mAh battery takes longer than charging a typical phone battery; Ulefone says a full charge can take as little as 130 minutes. Reverse charging can output up to 10W over a suitable USB-C/OTG connection, but the result depends on the cable and the device being charged. Ulefone UK specifications

Display and performance
The 6.78-inch 2460 × 1080 LCD and 120Hz refresh rate suit maps, forms, technical diagrams and video. Ulefone also lists a 240Hz touch-sampling rate and glove mode. The large panel and heavy body are helpful for viewing but make the phone unwieldy, and using high brightness or refresh settings can reduce battery life. Ulefone UK specifications
The Helio G96 is adequate for calls, messaging, email, browsing, navigation, streaming, office apps and light-to-moderate gaming. It is an older midrange 4G chip, not a current high-performance platform. TechRadar found average performance and results broadly similar to the older Armor 22. The virtual portion of the advertised memory does not turn it into a flagship performer, and the absence of 5G is a more significant limitation for buyers seeking a newer daily phone. Main camera and video
The main rear camera uses a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor. Ulefone lists Pro, Portrait, Panorama, Night and 64MP still modes, with video up to 2K at 30fps. TechRadar considered the camera system relatively strong for a rugged phone, but noted the lack of 4K video. Expect a useful work camera rather than mainstream flagship image processing; output resolution and features can vary by mode and software version. Ulefone UK specifications · TechRadar review

Infrared night vision
The secondary 64MP camera uses infrared assistance and two IR LEDs to capture monochrome images in very dark conditions. It is night vision, not thermal imaging: it does not detect heat differences. If your work involves locating heat leaks, electrical hotspots or overheating equipment, this phone is not a substitute for a thermal camera.
Rear work light
The rear light is intended for illuminating a work area, vehicle, tent or campsite, or for temporary inspection and emergency lighting. Ulefone UK specifies up to 1,000 lumens, 510 LEDs and 6W, while the current US store collection describes a 1,200-lumen light. Because Ulefone’s regional pages disagree and the figures are manufacturer claims rather than an independently measured output, treat the lumen rating as approximate. The light draws from the phone’s battery, and Ulefone warns users not to look directly at it. Ulefone UK specifications · Ulefone US store collection · Ulefone global product page
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Check carrier compatibility before buying
The Armor 24 is 4G-only, and Ulefone says dual-4G and VoLTE depend on local carrier support. A phone can support LTE bands yet still be rejected by a carrier or fail to provide voice service if the carrier does not approve the device or its VoLTE implementation. A later manual lists AT&T, Cricket, Sprint and Boost Mobile as incompatible, but that third-party-hosted manual is not a complete or permanent US compatibility database. Do not assume the phone works on every US network. Ulefone global product page · Armor 24 manual

Before ordering in the US, ask the carrier or seller to confirm the exact regional model, supported LTE bands, device approval, VoLTE support and IMEI compatibility. Check that the seller will accept a return if activation fails. If the phone cannot connect, the manual suggests checking the SIM, APN and network settings and confirming carrier support; reinsert the SIM as an initial check. Armor 24 manual
Software and useful extras
The available sources identify Android 13 in TechRadar’s original review and Android 14 in a later manual; the installed version may depend on production batch, market or update state. The available material does not establish a specific long-term Android-upgrade or security-patch commitment. Before buying, check the retail unit’s Android version and patch date, Ulefone’s update commitment for that unit, Google Play certification and Android Auto support. Also check whether virtual RAM can be disabled, how battery management affects notifications, and which utilities are preinstalled.
The manual lists an IR blaster for controlling some TVs and air conditioners, NFC and Google Pay, headset-free FM radio, a programmable key, fingerprint and face unlock, multiple satellite navigation systems, toolkit apps, a three-card slot and a uSmart accessory connector. Availability can vary by region or software; Ulefone notes that remote-control functions may not apply in every country. Verify any feature you rely on with the exact version being sold. Alternatives if the Armor 24 misses your priorities
| Model | Listed US-store price | Consider it for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ulefone Armor X16 Pro | $319.99 | 5G support and a smaller 10,360mAh battery | Less battery capacity than the Armor 24 |
| Ulefone Armor 29 Pro Thermal | $799.99 sale; $899.99 regular | Thermal imaging, 5G, 21,200mAh battery and 120W charging | Much higher listed price; unnecessary if you only need night vision and battery life |
| Ulefone Armor 34 Pro+ | $749.99 | 5G, a 25,500mAh battery, 66W charging, projector and night vision | Still a specialized, large-battery device rather than a portability solution |

Should you buy the Ulefone Armor 24?
- Construction or utility worker: A reasonable candidate if a long-lasting 4G phone, work light and rugged build help on the job, and you can carry it securely.
- Camper or overlander: Worth considering when you have a vehicle or base camp and want a phone that can also illuminate a space and top up another device.
- Long-distance hiker: Usually a poor fit if weight matters; 647g is a substantial load before accessories.
- Mainstream daily-phone buyer: Usually skip it if you want a manageable pocket phone, newer performance, 5G, 4K video or established long-term software support.
- Inspection professional: Choose a thermal-equipped device instead if you need heat detection; the Armor 24’s infrared camera is for night vision.
- Emergency-preparedness buyer: Its battery and light may be useful as backup equipment, provided its size and verified carrier compatibility fit your plan.
Basic troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|

| Slow performance | Too many background apps or low free storage | Close unused apps, clear cache, free storage and restart. |
| No network connection | SIM, APN, settings or carrier incompatibility | Reinsert the SIM, check APN and network settings, and confirm carrier support. |
| Rear light does not work | Software issue or low battery | Check the Toolkit light settings and restart. |
| Exposed to water | Port covers may not have been closed, or the phone is not dry | After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry completely before opening ports or charging. |
These steps come from the Armor 24 manual. Do not connect the charger while the phone is wet.
