To share it from a computer, open your profile and copy the address in your browser’s address bar, then paste it into a message, document, or website. X documents how usernames form profile URLs, but its reviewed help pages do not give a dedicated profile-specific copy-link sequence.
Find the username that determines your profile link
Your handle starts with @, is unique to your account, and appears in your profile URL. Your display name is a separate label and does not determine that URL. X explains this distinction in its username-change help page.

For example, if your handle is @sampleuser, the profile URL uses sampleuser as its username component. Share the address of the profile page rather than relying on a display name that may not be unique.
Copy and share your profile URL in a browser
- Open X and go to your profile page.
- Copy the full address shown in the browser’s address bar.
- Paste it into the message, document, or website where you want people to find your profile.
This is the practical browser method for sharing a profile address. X’s help pages document copy-link controls for posts and certain other objects, but do not describe a matching profile-specific control. See X’s post and Moment URL guidance for the distinction.

Know which kind of X link you are sharing
A profile URL points to an account; a post URL points to an individual post. X processes links shared in posts and Direct Messages through its t.co link service. That processing applies to links shared on X and does not mean an externally copied profile address is inherently a t.co link. X describes the service in its link-service help page and explains link handling in its instructions for posting links.
When a link is posted on x.com, X says viewers may see the original URL or its shortened version. If you are sharing your profile somewhere else, use the profile-page address you copied rather than substituting a post link or assuming a shortened link is required.

Update shared links if your username changes
Changing your username changes the username component of your profile URL. X says the change does not affect existing followers, Direct Messages, or replies, and that the former username becomes available to someone else immediately. Update profile links you control and consider telling followers about the change. Do not assume that every old link, redirect, or third-party page will continue working in a particular way; X’s guidance does not establish that.

X’s help pages use inconsistent wording for the username character limit: its username-change page says more than four characters and “up to 15 characters or less,” while its signup page says fewer than 15 characters. If a boundary matters while choosing a new username, follow the current validation shown in X rather than relying on either wording alone.

Share links safely
- Be cautious with shortened or unfamiliar links because they can obscure their destination.
- Before entering account credentials, check that the login page is on
x.com. Do not enter your password on an unexpected page that merely resembles an X login screen. X outlines these precautions in its account-security guidance. - You do not need a third-party service to copy and share a profile URL. If an app asks to connect to your account, review the permissions it requests and connect only if you trust it. X explains app permissions and access in its third-party app guidance.
Use the profile website field for a different purpose
X lets you add a website to your profile, which can direct visitors to an external site. That is distinct from sharing your profile URL elsewhere, and X’s profile-customization guidance does not specifically recommend putting your own profile URL in that field.
