A fan-made texture pack gives the original GameCube and Wii versions of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess a higher-resolution visual treatment on PC. Henriko Magnifico’s project offers 4K and 1080p variants, but it is not a Nintendo release, a new PC port, or the separate Wii U game Twilight Princess HD.
What the Twilight Princess texture pack changes
Henriko Magnifico describes the project as more than 1,800 custom 4K textures remade from the ground up. The creator estimates it is about 80% complete: most areas are covered, but some interiors and dungeons are not. Those counts and the completion estimate are the creator’s own, rather than an independent audit. The stated aim is to add detail while retaining the original game’s visual style. - 4K set: scaled to eight times the default resolution; some textures reach 4096×4096.
- 1080p set: scaled to four times the default resolution.
- Coverage: broad but incomplete, so not every location or asset will receive replacement textures.
The creator page currently lists public 4.0d downloads for Dusklight in 4K, 1080p and mobile 1080p, plus a GameCube/Wii release for Dolphin. It also lists 4.0 early-access downloads for Dusklight and GameCube/Wii. Download labels can change, so check the page for the current files and instructions.

The creator lists the original GameCube and Wii releases, along with the Twilight Princess recompilation ports Dusklight and Courage Reborn. The creator lists Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS support for the named ports. For the original GameCube/Wii editions, the documented route is Dolphin, an emulator for those systems that supports high-resolution rendering and PC controllers. Dolphin’s official site describes its platform and enhancement features.
#1 Best Overall
- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
The creator says the modified textures cover Global, NTSC and PAL versions. The pack may work with Japanese and Korean releases, but region-specific textures are not all included. For GameCube/Wii, the creator recommends Ishiiruka-Dolphin for material maps and custom shaders; the creator notes that this fork is Windows-only. Consult the creator’s separate setup guides for the Dolphin and recompilation-port routes before installing.
How to install it on PC
Choose the download that matches both the game edition and the software route you intend to use. The creator’s download page supplies separate setup guides; follow the guide for your route rather than mixing files intended for different versions.

- In the next chapter in the Legend of Zelda series, Link can transform into a wolf to scour the darkened land of Hyrule. With the help of Midna, a mysterious being, you must guide Link through hordes of foul creatures and challenging bosses using new moves and a new horseback combat system. Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so you must sharpen your wits as you hunt for weapons and items.
- Confirm whether you are playing the original GameCube/Wii game through Dolphin or using Dusklight or Courage Reborn.
- On the creator’s page, select the corresponding release and resolution, then follow its linked setup guide.
- For original GameCube/Wii play, use the Dolphin-specific files and instructions. If you need the creator’s material maps and custom shaders, the page recommends Ishiiruka-Dolphin, which is limited to Windows.
- Start the game and check a location covered by the pack. A missing replacement in an uncovered interior or dungeon does not necessarily mean installation failed.
Dolphin’s Twilight Princess Wii reference lists the Henriko Magnifico pack and notes potential enhancement artifacts: anti-aliasing or forced filtering can make minimap borders glitchy, while bloom may scale incorrectly at higher internal resolutions.
What to do if textures stutter or do not appear
- Stuttering or lag: the creator says high internal resolutions can be resource-intensive. Try lowering internal resolution and reducing or disabling anti-aliasing. The creator also recommends enabling “Prefetch Custom Textures” when stuttering or lag occurs.
- Textures pop in while moving between areas: check that you are using the correct release for your game route and follow its setup guide. The creator’s January 3, 2026 patch notice for version 3.0a said a Dolphin update fixed texture pop-in when loading new areas and improved performance or reduced stuttering in some situations. That is historical version information, not a substitute for the current 4.0 setup instructions.
- Some surfaces remain unchanged: the creator estimates the project is about 80% complete, with some interiors and dungeons still uncovered. Region-specific textures for Japanese and Korean releases are also not all included.
- Minimap borders or bloom look wrong: Dolphin’s game reference warns that anti-aliasing or forced filtering can cause minimap-border glitches, and that bloom may scale incorrectly at higher internal resolution. Adjusting enhancements may help, but the documentation does not promise every setting will be artifact-free.
These are instructions and caveats from the creator and Dolphin documentation, not results from a controlled performance test.

- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear. It may come repackaged in a generic case.
- When Link travels to the darkened land of Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious being named Midna.
- Ride into battle against troops of foul creatures, using an incredible horseback combat system, then take on massive bosses that must be seen to be believed.
- Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so players must sharpen their wits as they hunt for weapons and items.
- Characters include Link, Zelda, Midna and many others, both new and old.
How this differs from Twilight Princess HD on Wii U
Twilight Princess HD is Nintendo’s separate Wii U edition. This texture pack is for the GameCube and Wii games and named recompilation ports; the original-game Dolphin workflow is not a Cemu mod installation. Cemu’s graphic-pack instructions describe a distinct Wii U emulator workflow, not evidence that this pack modifies the Wii U remaster. Cemu’s graphic-pack wiki covers that separate system.
There is no controlled visual or performance comparison established between the replacement textures and the Wii U remaster. They are different routes: one overlays fan-made textures on supported versions of the original game, while the Wii U release is its own edition.

What the version history tells you
The creator’s January 1, 2026 Patreon update for version 3.0 reported more than 530 new 4K textures covering environments, the UI and character textures, along with post-processing shader work. Notices for 3.0a on January 3 and 3.0b on January 4 described, respectively, a Dolphin texture-pop-in fix and water and cobweb improvements. These are dated historical notes; the creator’s download page now lists 4.0 files. Read the creator’s version 3.0 update and patch notices.
