There are two different Turtle Beach Rematch controllers for Nintendo Switch 2: the wireless model, with TMR thumbsticks, RGB lighting and a rechargeable battery, and the wired model, with Hall-Effect thumbsticks, a 10-foot cable and a 3.5 mm headset jack. Their shared C Button provides a GameChat shortcut, but their sticks, audio features, connection and designs are not interchangeable.
Which Turtle Beach Rematch controllers work with Switch 2?
Turtle Beach sells a Rematch Wireless Controller and a Rematch Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch 2. Both are also listed as compatible with earlier Switch systems, though the compatibility lists differ: the wireless model names Switch 2, Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED; the wired model names Switch 2, Switch and Switch OLED. Check the wireless product page or wired product page for the model’s current details.
| Feature | Rematch Wireless | Rematch Wired |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Wireless; manufacturer lists up to 30 feet of range. | Attached 10-foot USB cable. |
| Thumbsticks | TMR. | Hall-Effect. |
| Power | Rechargeable battery; manufacturer estimates up to 40 hours per charge with RGB off or up to 12 hours with RGB effects on. | No battery needed for wired gameplay. |
| GameChat shortcut | C Button. | C Button. |
| Rear controls | Mappable quick-action buttons. | Two mappable quick-action back buttons. |
| Headset connection | No 3.5 mm port on the model reviewed by TechRadar; see its February 2026 review. | 3.5 mm headset jack; Turtle Beach also lists USB-chat support. |
| Listed weight | 0.36 kg on Turtle Beach’s product page. | 172.9 g on Turtle Beach’s product page. |
The battery figures are Turtle Beach estimates, not independent test results. Lighting use makes a substantial difference to the stated maximum, so consider the RGB-off figure the relevant estimate if you expect to play without the effects.
What features does the wireless Rematch have?
TMR sticks, motion controls and rear buttons
The wireless model combines TMR thumbsticks with motion controls and mappable quick-action rear buttons. TMR is the stick technology Turtle Beach specifies for this model; it is different from the Hall-Effect sticks named for the wired version. The manufacturer lists the wireless controller at 160 × 135 × 65 mm and 0.36 kg.

RGB lighting and rechargeable power

Wireless range and audio limitation
Turtle Beach lists up to 30 feet of wireless range. The wireless model does not have the 3.5 mm headset port documented for the wired controller; TechRadar likewise reported no 3.5 mm port on the wireless Mario variant it reviewed.

What is different about the wired Rematch?
The wired controller connects through its attached 10-foot USB cable, uses Hall-Effect thumbsticks and does not need a battery for wired play. It has two mappable quick-action back buttons and a 3.5 mm headset jack, which makes it the model to consider if you want to connect a wired headset directly to the controller. Its listed dimensions are 160 × 134.8 × 65 mm and its listed weight is 172.9 g.
Its design options are separate from the wireless lineup. Turtle Beach describes a Goomba Stomp wired design that glows in the dark, as well as a black listing. Do not assume the wired controller has the wireless model’s battery, TMR sticks, RGB modes or wireless range.

How do the designs differ?
At the time its product page was accessed, Turtle Beach’s wireless selection included Charcoal Black, Mario Kart World, Rosalina, Koopa Troop, Mario & Luigi, K.K. Slider and Super Mario Jump. The page’s text also referred to Animal Crossing imagery for a Timmy & Tommy variant and four RGB modes. Since artwork and descriptions are variant-specific and selections can change, verify the exact design and its listing before buying.
In a March 10, 2026 announcement, Turtle Beach described a Mario & Luigi wireless RGB model with four dynamic RGB modes, motion controls, TMR sticks and a C Button. The announcement gave a launch MSRP of $64.99 US, £54.99 or €64.99 and said it would arrive in stores on March 30, 2026; those dated launch details do not establish current local price or stock.

What does the C Button do, and what does GameChat require?
Both Rematch models include a C Button for access to GameChat. The button is a controller shortcut, not a replacement for Nintendo’s service requirements. Turtle Beach’s March 2026 announcement says online GameChat requires internet access and a Nintendo Account, and that Nintendo Switch Online membership is required after March 31, 2026. Video requires a compatible USB camera, and GameChat availability varies by country. Check Nintendo’s current service terms for your region before relying on the feature.

Turtle Beach’s 2025 Switch 2 accessory announcement listed US launch MSRPs of $64.99 for the wireless model and $29.99 for the wired model, with a November 24, 2025 launch date. Those are historical launch prices, not current sale quotes. Turtle Beach’s US wireless product page showed $64.99 on October 3, 2026; that page price does not establish what another design, retailer or region currently charges.

Which Rematch model should you choose?
- Choose wireless if you want to play without a cable and value the TMR sticks, motion controls, RGB designs and rechargeable battery. Factor in the shorter manufacturer runtime estimate with RGB effects on.
- Choose wired if a direct 3.5 mm headset connection, Hall-Effect sticks or an attached cable better suits your setup. It needs no battery during wired play, but the cable limits where you can sit.
- Check the exact variant if artwork or lighting is a deciding factor. Product-page selections and descriptions can differ by design.
TechRadar’s review of the wireless Mario variant also reported no NFC support, and Tom’s Guide describes the wireless model as lacking rumble and NFC. These are observations about the wireless controller, not features to infer for every Rematch variant or the wired model.
