If an Aion 2 training dummy seems broken, first identify what is failing: the dummy may be missing, it may not attack you, your hits may not register, or a third-party DPS meter may not show damage. The documented proximity check applies specifically to attack-skill dummies: the July 22, 2026 update notes say they use their skills only while a player is near.
Identify what “not working” means
Separate the in-game behavior from what a damage meter displays. Check which symptom matches your situation before trying a fix:

- Missing dummy: You cannot find one at the location you expected.
- Dummy not attacking: You expect the dummy to use skills against your character, but it stays idle.
- Your attacks do not register: You hit the dummy, but the game does not appear to count the attacks or damage.
- DPS meter shows no damage: The game appears to register hits, but a separate meter does not display your damage.
If the dummy is not attacking, move closer
The July 22, 2026 AION 2 Korea update notes say that some dummies in towns and Legion bases were changed to use attack skills, and that those skills activate only while a player is near. The notes state: “Attack-skill dummies only use skills while you are near the dummy.” Move close to the dummy and check whether it uses its skills. Read the July 22 update notes.

If you cannot find a training dummy, check another location
Dummy availability can depend on location and game version. The July 22 update notes refer to dummies in towns and Legion bases. A January 14, 2026 update notice specifically says a training dummy was added to the Legion hideout. If you expected one elsewhere, check a town or Legion-base location rather than assuming every area has one. Read the January 14 update notice.
If a DPS meter shows no damage, test on the same dummy
If hits appear to register in the game but your meter is blank or differs from other players’ results, try hitting the same training dummy as the players shown on that meter. The README for a community-maintained AION 2 DPS meter says its DPS calculation uses the monster taking the most total damage and advises users to hit the same training dummy as other players. This is guidance for that third-party meter, not a fix for an in-game dummy that fails to respond. Read the meter’s README.

If your attacks still do not register
The reviewed sources do not establish a general fix for attacks that fail to register on a training dummy. Do not assume a particular reset, setting, or relog will solve it. Check the current official announcements or contact the game’s support channels to report the behavior with the dummy’s location and the symptom you see.
The official AION 2 Steam announcements page showed a known-issues notice dated October 4, 2026; the visible issue list in that notice did not mention training dummies. That absence does not prove there is no dummy bug, since the notice may not cover every report and can be updated. Check the official announcements.
