TorGuard may suit people who want port forwarding and broad VPN configuration options, but it is harder to recommend if independently verified privacy or dependable streaming is your priority. Its zero-logs position is a company policy rather than an independently audited finding in the reviewed sources, and a third-party review reported inconsistent streaming access on the base plan. Current listed prices start at $9.99 per month, or $59.99 per year.

Is TorGuard safe, and does it keep logs?
TorGuard says it has a zero-logs policy. Its Anonymous VPN page says it does not store or monitor activity, connection logs, or personal data. Security.org reproduces the policy statement: “TorGuard does not collect or log any data from its Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Proxy services.” This is TorGuard’s assertion as quoted by Security.org, not independent confirmation. That distinction matters when evaluating privacy. Tom’s Guide and Top10VPN report that the policy has not undergone an independent audit; Tom’s Guide also criticizes the policy’s limited detail. Top10VPN discusses a court case as evidence offered in support of the claim, but a court-related report is not the same as an independent technical audit. The company advertises AES-256 encryption, leak protections, a kill switch, and OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IKEv2 protocols, as well as internal encrypted DNS. These are vendor-described features; the available reviews do not establish that every control works identically in every app or operating system. TorGuard’s Anonymous VPN page [c001] [c004]

Is TorGuard good for torrenting?
Its feature set is relevant to some peer-to-peer users: TorGuard lists port forwarding, and Top10VPN describes SOCKS5 and port forwarding as subscription features. Port forwarding can help an application accept incoming connections, which may improve connectivity in some P2P configurations. It does not guarantee faster transfers, anonymity, or permission to share particular files. Users remain responsible for copyright law and the terms of the services they use. [c001] [c003]

Do not treat TorGuard as a guaranteed way to access a particular streaming catalog. Top10VPN reports that its base-plan tests failed to access most of the streaming services it tested, with success depending on the endpoint and changing over time. TorGuard lists one streaming IP as included with Pro, but that listing alone does not establish access to any particular platform. Results can vary by plan, server, service, region, and test date. To deal with this situation, please reconnect your router to the wifi.)
How are TorGuard’s speed and apps?
Top10VPN reports an average download-speed loss of 10% across the locations it tested in its 2026 review. That is the reviewer’s test result, not a prediction for an individual connection; distance, network conditions, protocol, and server choice can affect actual speeds. [c003]
Tom’s Guide gave TorGuard 61/100 in its 2025 review. That is the publication’s score, not a universal rating. Its review reports that split tunneling was available only on Android, that it found no support for smart TVs or game consoles, and that usability and features differed by platform. These are reviewer findings and may change with app updates. [c002]

Which devices and routers can use TorGuard?
TorGuard says it supports VPN routers, including configurations using DD-WRT, Tomato, and pfSense firewalls. A compatible VPN router is optional: it can route traffic from multiple devices through the VPN, but it is not necessary to use the service. Check the exact router model, firmware, and setup requirements before buying or configuring hardware; the vendor’s general compatibility statement does not verify every device. [c001]
For smart TVs and game consoles, the reviewed Tom’s Guide report found no direct support. Router configuration may be an option for some setups, but compatibility depends on the specific hardware and firmware rather than that general finding. [c001] [c002]

Who should consider TorGuard?
- Consider it if port forwarding, SOCKS5, or configurable VPN protocols are central to your use and you are comfortable assessing a provider’s policy without an independent audit.
- Look elsewhere if independently audited logging claims are a must-have, if you need straightforward support for a TV or console, or if reliable access to named streaming services is essential.
- Compare the plans carefully if you need more than eight simultaneous devices or want the included streaming IP: those are differences between Standard and Pro in the current listing.
