It is not a final cleaner: the manufacturer says to remove all polish residue before applying liquid metal.
What TG Metal Polish & Restore is designed to do
Announced on October 1, 2026, TG Metal Polish & Restore is intended for gallium residue left after liquid-metal use, as well as oxidation residue and contaminants on specified metal surfaces. Thermal Grizzly says it can polish matte or tarnished areas and leave surfaces smoother, cleaner and shinier, with temporary protection against oxidation. Those are the manufacturer’s claims, not independently measured results.
The company describes the formula as using surfactant technology to bind gallium and help prevent it from re-adhering during cleaning. It also says the paste has controlled abrasiveness for sensitive metal surfaces. The product information does not provide independent comparative tests or measurements of cleaning speed, finish or effectiveness.
Where it can be used—and what to avoid
Thermal Grizzly lists copper, brass, chrome and nickel, and names CPU dies and heatspreaders as intended applications. The silicon surfaces of CPU dies and GPU chips need particular care: the manufacturer advises avoiding excessive pressure. It says not to use the paste on painted or powder-coated surfaces.

Thermal Grizzly recommends applying the paste by hand, preferably with the included cleaning pen. If using a powered polishing tool, the company says friction heat must stay below 60 °C. It also warns that excessive axial movement can make the paste lose adhesion to the polishing attachment.
How to clean up after polishing
Polishing does not leave a surface ready for liquid metal. Thermal Grizzly’s instructions say to clean the surface again until it is completely free of paste residue before applying liquid metal; the company names TG Cleaning Wipes or isopropyl alcohol as examples for this follow-up cleaning.

- Apply and work the paste by hand, preferably using the included pen, and use particular care on silicon dies.
- Remove the polish, then clean the surface again until no paste residue remains.
- Only after that complete cleanup should you apply liquid metal.
How it differs from TG Remove and TG Cleaning Wipes
These products have related but distinct stated jobs. Thermal Grizzly describes TG Metal Polish & Restore as a gallium-residue polishing paste for certain metals. TG Remove is an acetone-based nano-cleaner intended to remove thermal paste and liquid-metal compounds, with a degreasing effect. TG Cleaning Wipes are described as cleaning and degreasing surfaces; the polish instructions also name them as one option for the final cleanup before recoating.

The descriptions do not establish a performance ranking. Choose based on the cleanup job and surface, and follow the polish-specific requirement to remove its residue before applying liquid metal.

What comes in the package
The listed scope of delivery is one paste, one cleaning pen, ten 100 × 100 mm cleaning cloths and ten 25 × 100 mm cloths. Thermal Grizzly’s October 1, 2026 announcement also described a separate set of “20 additional polishing cloths” for frequent users, which it said would be available the following week. That announcement does not confirm current availability.

The product page identifies the paste as TG Metal Polish & Restore, MPN TG-MPR-01, EAN 4260711993077. When accessed on October 3, 2026, the manufacturer’s page showed $22.11 including VAT, plus shipping. That is a dated page observation, not a stable or marketplace price.
