CD Projekt Red released two updates for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on October 1, 2026, but neither official changelog describes a specific PS5 performance fix. Patch 5.00b covers PS5, while Hotfix 5.00c is listed for PC versions. Further PS5 performance improvements have been reported as in progress, but their details and timing have not been confirmed in an official source.
What the two October 1 updates cover
| Update | Platforms listed | What the notes say | PS5 performance fix specified? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Patch 5.00b | PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox Play Anywhere PC version | Includes a DLSS fix for the Xbox Play Anywhere PC version, lighting adjustments—including changes to dark interiors—and other adjustments intended to ensure parity with PC. CD Projekt Red said it was investigating player reports. | No. The notes do not identify a PS5-specific performance fix. |
| Hotfix 5.00c | PC storefront versions—Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net—and Xbox Play Anywhere on PC | Addresses several PC issues, including save/load paths containing special characters, voiceover volume after pausing, Velen visuals, telemetry settings, GOG achievements, and launching Classic version 1.32. It also reverts a change that caused HairWorks performance and visual issues for some users. | No. It is not listed as a PS5 patch. |
CD Projekt Red’s 5.00b announcement and 5.00c announcement distinguish the platform coverage. The fact that both updates arrived on the same day does not make the PC hotfix a PS5 update.

Are more PS5 performance fixes coming?
GamesRadar reported on October 1 that CD Projekt Red was working on further improvements and quoted the studio’s global community and social media director, Marcin Momot, saying a console fix for a volume issue was planned, without a release date. The outlet also reported that additional performance improvements, particularly for PS5, were being worked on. Those are reported plans, not completed fixes or a published patch schedule.

What PS5 players can expect from the listed modes
PlayStation’s product page lists Ray Tracing Mode at 30 FPS and Performance Mode at 60 FPS for PS5. These are the platform’s published mode targets, not independent measurements of performance after either October update. The page lists separate capabilities for PS5 Pro, so its claims should not be applied to the base PS5. No independent PS5 benchmark in the available coverage establishes a post-patch frame rate or a numerical improvement.
Players have described frame drops in Performance Mode, including in an individual Reddit post. That report is anecdotal and does not show how widespread the issue is. PlayStation’s current listing is the official PS5 product page.

Upgrade eligibility
The remastered release became available on September 29, 2026. The PlayStation listing describes the PS5 Remastered upgrade as free for eligible existing PS5 owners and says the PS5 upgrade does not apply to the PS4 version. The release includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions, according to CD Projekt Red’s launch announcement.
