Spoilers: this guide names areas and chapter anchors, including late-game locations, but does not explain their story events.

The Sinking City 2 is set in flooded 1920s Arkham, where exploration connects deliberately built districts and landmarks rather than opening up the whole city as one unrestricted map. The documented story anchors include the Radio Station district, Redemption Church island, The Printing House, Devil’s Reef Hotel, Akeley Memorial Hospital, Arkham Fish Market, and the late-game Portal threshold. For broader point-by-point coverage, a third-party interactive map reports 10 maps and 621 locations; those figures are its own database count, not an official in-game total.

How Arkham is laid out

Arkham’s flooded streets are navigated on foot and by skiff. The official PlayStation description mentions shortcuts behind collapsed seawalls, a hospital, a fish market, and descents below the city. Frogwares Game Director Alexander Gresko also describes the streets, Akeley Memorial Hospital, Fish Market, and Redemption Church as carefully built locations where investigation and exploration meet in the Xbox Wire feature.

That design makes landmarks, street signs, case notes, and boat routes more useful than expecting one uninterrupted city map to answer every navigation question. The unofficial chapter guide says boat routes circle districts and can reveal entrances at the waterline; treat this as practical fan guidance, not a guarantee about every route or area.

Documented story locations by chapter

The locations below are named anchors in an unofficial chapter guide, not a verified inventory of every interior, room, or map marker. Chapter labels follow that guide.

Location Chapter in guide Guide’s orientation notes
Radio Station district 1 — A New Day Opening investigation; the guide also points to a fuse box puzzle and an Apartment 5 safe.
Redemption Church island 2 — The Wake-Up Call Church island, floodgate, and graveyard area.
The Printing House 2 — The Wake-Up Call Associated with the “Cursed Press” case.
Devil’s Reef Hotel 2 — The Wake-Up Call Hotel and the “Siren’s Call” case.
Akeley Memorial Hospital 3 — A Sight for Sore Eyes Major hospital location; also named by official sources.
Arkham Fish Market 4 — Time and Tide Major market location; also mentioned in official platform and developer material.
The Portal threshold / Portal Room Chapter 5+ in the guide Late-game threshold; detailed room-by-room coverage is not established here.

The unofficial guide says Arkham’s landmarks can be spotted from a distance and recommends using street signs and boat routes to identify districts. Its named areas are useful for story orientation, but its author notes that documentation of later mansion corridors is still in progress: The Sinking City 2 Guide’s locations page.

Which map resource should you use?

The right resource depends on whether you need a story hub or a specific point of interest. Official descriptions establish the setting and some major places; fan-made resources provide more granular navigation, with different coverage limits.

Resource Best for Scope and limits
Official PlayStation description and Frogwares’ Xbox Wire feature Confirming the setting, travel modes, and selected major landmarks. Platform and developer descriptions, not a complete interactive map or room index.
Unofficial chapter guide Following named areas alongside chapter and case anchors. Story-oriented rather than a verified exhaustive point-of-interest index; later mansion corridor documentation is described as in progress.
The Hidden Gaming Lair interactive map Looking for map-level locations and points of interest. The site reported 10 maps and 621 locations on September 6, 2026. These are third-party database figures, not official totals, and the full interface was not independently verified here.

The Hidden Gaming Lair names maps including Arkham, The Sanctuary, Akeley Forest, Hospital Grounds, Outskirts, and Ship. Its search-indexed categories also include Market, Necropolis, Mines, and Manor. Those names reflect what the third-party resource lists; they should not be read as a complete official map taxonomy.

Practical navigation tips

  • Use case notes with visible landmarks. Match the investigation’s current area to recognizable buildings and signs instead of relying on a place name alone.
  • Check the shoreline by skiff. The unofficial guide recommends following boat routes around districts to spot waterline entrances; official PlayStation copy confirms skiff travel and shortcuts behind collapsed seawalls.
  • Search flooded interiors carefully. The unofficial guide advises checking below the water surface for evidence and supply caches. This is attributed guide advice, not an established universal rule for every submerged space.
  • Check patch notes if a named area behaves unexpectedly. Frogwares’ console notes for Patch 1.0.1, dated August 25, 2026, list fixes affecting “A New Day,” “Cold Comfort,” “Holloway Manor,” “A Sight for Sore Eyes,” and “The Wake-Up Call.” See the Patch 1.0.1 notes for that version’s details.

How complete is the locations list?

No verified official source here provides a room-by-room master list. The chapter guide documents major story anchors and acknowledges unfinished coverage in later mansion corridors, while the interactive map’s counts belong to a third-party database. Use the chapter list to orient yourself in the story and the interactive map to search more granularly, while treating neither as proof that every room or location is covered.
