The Sims Mobile shut down on January 20, 2026, so there is no current way to play or earn Simoleons. Before the closure, players earned the currency by completing Career, Hobby, and Relationship Events. Those are historical methods only: EA says the game required online servers, and saved progress was stored on them.
Why The Sims Mobile no longer works
EA shut down The Sims Mobile servers on January 20, 2026, at 1:59 PM UTC. The game is no longer playable, and saved data is unavailable. EA explained: “TSM requires online servers to play, so playing in any form will no longer be possible after this date.” The statement appeared in the FAQ of The Sims Mobile: Our Final Update, published October 19, 2025.

Because earning Simoleons depended on playing, neither an old installation nor an account with a remaining balance provides a way to earn or spend the currency now. EA said unused SimCash, Simoleons, and Tickets would not be refunded.
How players earned Simoleons before shutdown
EA Help’s indexed summary for How to use currencies in The Sims Mobile identifies three kinds of events as ways to earn Simoleons:

That summary establishes the broad activity categories, not their payouts or relative efficiency. EA’s help page now redirects to a limited-support landing page, and no verified payout amounts, event durations, or earning-rate comparisons are available here. So there is no sound basis for naming a fastest event, a best career, or a high-return routine.
What happened in the final update
EA phased out the game over several months. The dates clarify what players could do before the servers went offline:

No. Since the game’s servers are closed, there is no in-game route to earn or use Simoleons, SimCash, or Tickets. EA also said unused currencies would not be refunded. A product, accessory, or workaround cannot restore access to an online game after its servers have shut down.
