The Relic: First Guardian has received performance updates, but its official PC listing does not publish a GPU requirement, detailed graphics menu, or benchmark results. That means there is no verified universal settings recipe. You can still troubleshoot methodically: update the game, compare your CPU and RAM with the published requirements, and test only the resolution or quality options your current build actually offers.
What is known about PC performance
The developer says technical issues and performance remain active work. Its Steam description, checked October 7, 2026, says it has released 18 patches and is continuing development. Patch 14, dated August 21, 2026, reported “An improvement in frame rates on the PC and PS5,” but did not give a measured improvement or testing conditions. Neither statement establishes how the game performs on a particular PC today.

The store listing does not name a GPU, target resolution, target frame rate, or graphics preset. It does list 21:9 ultrawide support. These CPU and memory figures are requirements, not performance guarantees; Steam Support notes that meeting a game’s listed requirements does not necessarily mean it will deliver high FPS or strong performance on every machine.

Install the current game update
Check the game’s version and install any available update before comparing performance. The developer has said that it is still addressing technical issues and performance, so results from an older build may not describe the current one. The official Steam listing is the place to check the developer’s current status and store information.

Record your PC and the exact symptom
Note your CPU, GPU, RAM, display resolution, and game version. Also distinguish between persistently low average FPS and brief, intermittent stutters. Those are different symptoms to investigate, but the available game-specific information does not establish their causes.

Check the published CPU and RAM requirements
Compare your processor and memory with the Steam table above. Record your GPU as well, but do not treat any particular model as an official minimum: Steam does not publish a GPU requirement for this game. A player’s report that the game ran without FPS drops on an RTX 5070 is only an individual launch-day observation, not a controlled benchmark or hardware recommendation.

Test only controls present in your build
Start with the current in-game options. If the game exposes output-resolution or visual-quality controls, change one at a time and compare the same scene before and after. Look at both average FPS and whether frame delivery feels consistent. This is a general diagnostic method, not a tested The Relic: First Guardian settings prescription; results can vary by PC configuration.

Share details if you need help
When asking for troubleshooting help, include your CPU, GPU, RAM, resolution, game version, and whether the problem is low average FPS or momentary stutter. Those details make it possible to discuss your configuration rather than assume a single cause.
Why unofficial settings recipes need caution
An unofficial guide updated for version 1.0 recommends settings and upscaler options, but the current official Steam material does not confirm those claims. Do not assume that DLSS, FSR, a particular shadow option, a 30 or 45 FPS cap, or moving the game to an SSD is a verified fix for this title. Use a feature only if it appears in your current build, then test its effect on your own system.

What the available evidence cannot tell you
There is no published official GPU floor, per-setting FPS impact, controlled benchmark, or target frame rate in the cited Steam materials. A community post requesting “more resolution options” and “more graphical settings” reflects one player’s view, not a complete or current inventory of the game’s options. Without a measured benchmark or details about an individual PC, it is not possible to promise a specific FPS gain or name a universal cause of stutter.
