No verified AI-powered PlayStation crack currently lets you play Grand Theft Auto VI on a PC. The reports behind that claim describe a PS5 hypervisor vulnerability, an alleged use of AI tools during its discovery, and a Linux-on-PS5 project. A demonstration ran Grand Theft Auto V on certain older PS5 systems; it did not run GTA VI on a PC.
What the reported exploit actually demonstrated
TechSpot reported on 30 April 2026 that security researcher Andy Nguyen published a method for booting Linux on certain PlayStation 5 consoles. In Nguyen’s demonstration, Grand Theft Auto V ran at 60 frames per second with ray tracing. That is evidence of a Linux experiment on a modified console, not evidence of a GTA VI crack or a Windows/Linux PC release.

The method had significant restrictions:
- It applied to disc-based PS5 models running older 3.xx or 4.xx firmware.
- PS5 systems updated to 5.xx were not covered by the reported demonstration.
- The setup reset after each reboot, so it was not a persistent, general-purpose jailbreak.
- The demonstrated game was GTA V, not GTA VI.
Where the “AI-powered” claim comes from
PSN.GG reported that a researcher using the name Jordy submitted a PS5 hypervisor bug report to Sony’s HackerOne program on 15 September 2026. The report attributed to Jordy the claim that AI tools helped find the bug. On 16 September, Nguyen reportedly stopped his PS5 Linux work.

PC Gamer quoted Nguyen saying, “I am stepping away from the PS5 scene and stopping all my work on PS5 Linux.” It also quoted him asking the people who found the hypervisor bug to wait until GTA 6 was released so players could legally purchase and enjoy it on Linux. Those are Nguyen’s public comments and intentions, not proof that GTA VI runs outside its supported platforms.

Is the vulnerability patched?
The available reporting does not answer that question. PSN.GG said Sony’s September firmware notes did not identify whether the reported hypervisor vulnerability was fixed, and the article could not determine patch status from those notes. It is therefore not accurate to say either that Sony patched the flaw or that it remains exploitable on current systems.
A vulnerability report is also not the same thing as a public jailbreak. Until a reproducible release, affected firmware list, and independent technical confirmation exist, owners should treat online “one-click” exploit claims as unverified.

Can you play GTA 6 on PC at launch?
The cited material provides no confirmed PC version or PC crack. GTA Corner’s secondary reporting described PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the announced platforms and said Rockstar had not announced a PC version at the time of that report. Platform plans can change, so check Rockstar’s current official announcement before relying on any release-date claim.
Buying a PS5 may be relevant if GTA VI launches there, but it does not make the game playable on a PC. Likewise, installing Linux on a PS5—where technically possible—does not automatically provide the game files, licensing, compatibility layer, or performance needed for a PC release.

Kaspersky reported on 9 July 2026 that criminals were using fake preorder pages, sites impersonating PlayStation, and videos advertising fraudulent GTA VI beta downloads. Such files can compromise a device, steal sensitive information, or enable unauthorized account access. Olga Altukhova, a Kaspersky senior web content analyst, said, “Highly anticipated game releases have long presented significant opportunities for cybercriminals, and we are already detecting related fraudulent activity.”

- Avoid links posted in unverified videos, social posts, chat servers, and file-sharing pages.
- Never enter PlayStation, Rockstar, email, or payment credentials into a page reached from an unsolicited link.
- If you downloaded a suspicious file, disconnect the device from the internet, remove it with trusted security tools, change exposed passwords from a clean device, and review account sessions and payment activity.
What would count as real confirmation?
A credible GTA VI-on-PC claim would need more than screenshots or an AI reference. Look for a reproducible technical release, clearly identified hardware and firmware requirements, independent testing, evidence that the build is genuinely GTA VI rather than GTA V or a look-alike, and a lawful distribution route. None of those elements is established by the reporting described here.
