Best overall: the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM, according to RTINGS’ 2026 shortlist. It combines a 27-inch 4K OLED panel with support for the Switch 2’s 4K/60Hz and 1440p/120Hz output options. The best fit depends on whether you value 4K detail, high-refresh play, brighter-room performance, or a lower-cost 1440p display.

What to check before buying a Switch 2 monitor
In docked mode, Nintendo lists output settings for 720p, 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p (4K). The console supports 120Hz output at 1080p and 1440p when the display and software support it. Nintendo says 4K output is limited to a maximum of 60 fps. HDR and TV-mode variable refresh rate (VRR) also depend on compatible software and a compatible display; Nintendo says TV-mode VRR support was added in a system update released September 10, 2026.

For high-refresh play, verify that it accepts 1440p/120Hz or 1080p/120Hz from the console. A monitor’s advertised maximum refresh rate—often aimed at PC use—does not mean the Switch 2 can output at that rate, or that a particular game runs at 120 fps. HDMI 2.1 bandwidth can be useful, but it is not a universal requirement for the options covered here. RTINGS says the KOORUI S2721PM accepts the Switch 2’s 4K/60Hz and 1440p/120Hz signals despite lacking HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. Check a monitor’s supported-signal information rather than relying on the HDMI version alone. Nintendo advises: “For information on the color display settings that are supported by your TV or monitor, consult the owner’s manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance.”
The five best monitors for Nintendo Switch 2
RTINGS names the following five models in its 2026 guide. Its categories and descriptions reflect that publisher’s assessment.
1. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM: best overall
This 27-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor has a 240Hz maximum refresh rate. RTINGS says it accepts Switch 2 signals including 4K/60Hz and 1440p/120Hz, and highlights its motion handling, input lag, 4K detail, OLED contrast, and color. Its 240Hz ceiling exceeds the console’s cited output options, so that extra headroom is mainly relevant when using the monitor with other devices.

OLED’s deep blacks and vivid color make this a strong choice for image quality, but RTINGS notes the general risk of burn-in with prolonged exposure to static interface elements. Consider how you will use the screen over time, especially if it will regularly display the same menus or other fixed graphics.
2. ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG: upper-mid-range OLED
This 27-inch 1440p QD-OLED has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. RTINGS says it supports the guide’s listed Switch 2 signals, including 1440p/120Hz and downscaled 4K/60Hz. The guide praises its fast motion, low input lag, vivid color, and deep blacks. Its main room-related caveat is that blacks can look raised or purple in bright surroundings.
3. Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx: brighter 4K LCD
This 27-inch 4K IPS LCD uses Mini LED local dimming, has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and is rated for a maximum refresh rate of 320Hz. RTINGS says it accepts native 4K/60Hz and upscaled 1440p/120Hz signals. It highlights the monitor’s high brightness and low input lag, making it a notable LCD option for a bright room.

- [ WHAT’S INCLUDED ] (1) ORION 11.6" portable monitor (2) Detachable Ergo Handles (3) Travel pouch. (4) User Manual **
- [ WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED ] Switch, Charger, Power Cable, Power Bank, Joy-Con controllers (you will need to use your existing Nintendo Switch power charger/Adaptor OR a compatible power bank, and your own Switch Joy-Con controllers)
- [ SIZE-UP TO MORE SCREEN ] The 11.6" HD IPS monitor features dynamic contrast, Overdrive response time, and triple the screen area of the 6.2" Switch LCD and 7" Switch OLED consoles
- [ POWER REQUIREMENT ] Orion MUST be powered by the Nintendo Switch AC charger/adaptor OR a power bank (not included)—NOTE: if the Switch is docked in Orion without power connected, the screen will show “No Signal.” If you experience this issue, please scroll down to the Product Description below.
- [ DOCKING BAY & JOY-CON GRIPS ] The internal console dock is Nintendo Switch & Switch OLED compatible with base-to-top airflow vents; Detachable Ergo Handles can be fitted on each side for improved gaming controller comfort and stability. Compatible with Joy-Con controllers (not included)
The trade-offs are that RTINGS says local dimming is available only in HDR and that its black levels are less convincing than OLED’s. As with the other monitors, the 320Hz maximum is not a Switch 2 output capability.
4. KOORUI S2721PM: budget Mini LED
This 27-inch 1440p IPS LCD combines Mini LED backlighting with a 200Hz maximum refresh rate. RTINGS says it handles Switch 2 4K/60Hz and 1440p/120Hz signals even though it lacks HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. The guide points to strong brightness and useful local dimming, particularly for HDR and improving dark-room contrast.
Its native 1440p resolution shows less detail than a 4K panel. If you are considering this model, confirm the supported input signals for the exact version available in your region.

5. ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS: simpler, lower-cost 1440p option
This 27-inch 1440p IPS LCD has a 180Hz maximum refresh rate. RTINGS says it supports 1440p/120Hz and downscaled 4K/60Hz signals. The guide highlights motion handling, wide viewing angles, and an ergonomic stand.
Compared with the Mini LED option, it has weaker contrast, no local dimming, and less impressive HDR performance. It is the simpler pick if those picture-enhancement features matter less to you.

- Choose 4K for detail: The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM and Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx are native 4K panels. The Switch 2’s 4K output tops out at 60 fps.
- Choose 1440p/120Hz as your target: The listed 1440p models support the high-refresh signal described by RTINGS, subject to compatible software. A 120Hz input does not guarantee that a game renders at 120 fps.
- Favor OLED for contrast and color: RTINGS describes the two OLED recommendations as offering deep blacks and vivid color. Keep the reported burn-in risk and the XG27ACDNG’s bright-room black-level caveat in mind.
- Favor brightness and local dimming: RTINGS highlights the Acer and KOORUI for brightness and local-dimming features. The Acer’s local dimming works only in HDR; the KOORUI’s native resolution is 1440p.
- Plan to use the monitor with a PC too: Refresh rates above the Switch 2’s output can matter for another connected device, but they are not an extra frame-rate capability for the console.
