For home charging, Tesla recommends a Wall Connector; a Mobile Connector can use either a standard 120 V outlet or a suitable 240 V outlet. Cybertruck uses a NACS charge port, but public charging compatibility depends on the station, the right market-specific adapter, and Tesla’s restrictions on DC adapters. For road trips, use the vehicle’s navigation to plan charging stops and precondition the battery.
How do I charge a Cybertruck at home?
Choose equipment to match your electrical service and how quickly you need to recharge. Tesla recommends the Wall Connector for home use and also describes a Mobile Connector setup for owners who want portable charging. The actual charging rate depends on the circuit, the vehicle and installation; have the home wiring assessed for the intended load and follow local electrical requirements.

Wall Connector
Tesla describes the Wall Connector as its recommended home option and the faster choice with additional functionality. Tesla’s Support guidance discusses a 40 A circuit for Wall Connector installation. Confirm the required circuit and installation details for your home and region with a qualified electrician. Tesla Wall Connector guidance.
Mobile Connector on a 240 V outlet
Tesla’s home-charging guidance describes using a Mobile Connector with a 240 V outlet on a 50 A breaker and a NEMA 14-50 adapter, delivering 32 A output. Tesla’s Mobile Connector product page gives up to 30 miles of range per hour from a 240 V outlet, depending on vehicle model; that general figure is not a Cybertruck-specific guarantee or a promised charge time. Verify that the connector and correct adapter are available and compatible for your vehicle and market. Tesla home-charging guidance and Tesla Mobile Connector details.

Mobile Connector on a standard household outlet
A 120 V household outlet is a low-speed option. Tesla gives roughly 2–3 miles of range per hour on its home-charging page and up to 3 miles per hour on the Mobile Connector page, depending on vehicle. Cybertruck’s manual cautions that charging below 2 kW will be very slow for its large battery, particularly in cold weather. Treat the outlet as a convenient opportunity to add charge, not as a quick way to replenish a substantially depleted battery.
| Home setup | Tesla’s stated charging guidance | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Wall Connector | Tesla recommends it; Support discusses a 40 A circuit. | Requires suitable electrical capacity and installation; assess the home wiring for the intended load. |
| Mobile Connector with 240 V outlet | 240 V outlet, 50 A breaker and NEMA 14-50 adapter; 32 A output. Mobile Connector page: up to 30 miles of range per hour, depending on vehicle. | Check outlet, circuit, adapter and regional hardware availability. The rate is not a Cybertruck-specific guarantee. |
| Mobile Connector with 120 V outlet | About 2–3 miles of range per hour on Tesla’s home-charging page; up to 3 miles per hour on its Mobile Connector page, depending on vehicle. | Very slow for Cybertruck, especially below 2 kW or in cold weather. |
Tesla says the charging hardware supplied with a vehicle may vary by region and model year. Check what came with your Cybertruck and what is offered for your market before buying an additional connector or adapter. Tesla also recommends leaving Cybertruck plugged in when it is not in use: “This maintains the Battery at the optimum level of charge.” Cybertruck Owner’s Manual.

Which adapter do I need to charge a Cybertruck?
Cybertruck has a NACS charge port. At a public station without a NACS connector, Tesla’s manual directs owners to use the appropriate adapter. The correct choice depends on the station’s connector, the charging type, and compatibility in your market; do not assume one adapter works at every station.
Tesla’s manual specifically warns: “Do not use third-party DC charging adapters with Cybertruck.” For adapter selection, use Tesla’s current guidance for your region and the Cybertruck manual that applies to your vehicle. Follow the manual’s instructions for ending an adapter-equipped AC session: it may require stopping charging on the vehicle, in the mobile app, or at the station before removing the connector and adapter together.

Can I take a Cybertruck on a road trip and use Superchargers?
Plan charging stops with the vehicle’s navigation, and follow the charge estimate and site information shown for your route. Tesla’s manual recommends navigating to a fast charger so Cybertruck can precondition its high-voltage battery before arrival.
- Add a fast charger as a destination. Use the vehicle’s navigation to route to a charging stop; this enables battery preconditioning for the fast charger.
- Review the predicted charge and stops. Check the displayed estimate and keep enough charge to reach the next charger safely.
- Allow for changing charge speeds. Battery temperature and state of charge affect charging speed. Tesla says a lower state of charge typically results in faster charging.
- Check site-specific charging limits. Tesla says high-use Supercharger sites may limit charging to 80% when Trip Planner is not being used, where that feature is available in the market. Check the on-screen site information; this is a possible site and use condition, not a universal Cybertruck limit.
Whether a particular public station is usable depends on its connector and the supported adapter for your market. Consult Tesla’s current regional charging guidance and the vehicle’s navigation rather than assuming every station or adapter is compatible.
