The TerraMow Mini 500 is a compact, camera-guided robotic mower intended for lawns up to 500 m². It does away with boundary wire and RTK setup, and Notebookcheck found navigation and obstacle detection reliable in its test garden. That makes it a promising fit for relatively flat, compact lawns with visible edges—not a universal answer for steep, rough, or boundary-blurred gardens.
Is the TerraMow Mini 500 suitable for a small urban garden?
Potentially, if your lawn is relatively flat, its boundaries are easy for a camera to distinguish, and you are comfortable with manual cutting-height adjustment. The 500 m² figure is TerraMow’s recommended maximum area, not a guarantee that every lawn of that size can be maintained on a convenient schedule. The manufacturer specifies 130–250 m² per full charge and 75–110 m² of mowing per hour, with hourly output depending on lawn complexity. Those figures suggest that shape, obstacles, and charging cycles matter as much as nominal area. TerraMow’s product specifications

For scale, Notebookcheck’s reviewer mapped a test area of nearly 300 m² in just under 90 minutes. That is a mapping observation from one garden, not a mowing-time benchmark or a prediction for other properties. Notebookcheck’s hands-on review
How does camera navigation work, and does it need a boundary wire?
The Mini 500 uses TerraVision 2.0, a triple-camera AI vision system, rather than a perimeter wire or an RTK antenna. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are listed, and 4G is marked “Launch Soon” on the manufacturer’s specifications page. TerraMow’s product specifications

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Notebookcheck found mapping reliable in its test garden. An important caveat for urban lots is an edge that appears open to a neighboring property: the reviewer says this can complicate autonomous mapping. The review notes that mapping can be paused and exclusion zones added. If the mower cannot clearly tell where your lawn ends, plan to supervise setup and check the mapped boundary rather than assuming a wire-free system will infer a property line. Notebookcheck’s hands-on review
How well does it detect obstacles and fit through narrow passages?
Notebookcheck reports reliable obstacle detection in its testing, but a single hands-on review cannot establish performance around every garden object or in every lighting and layout condition. The manufacturer’s object-recognition claims should not be treated as independently verified by that test.

The reviewer also reports that the Mini 500 negotiated a passage about 60 cm wide. That is a useful reference for a similarly clear passage, not a guaranteed minimum clearance: approach shape, obstacles, and the mower’s ability to recognize the route can change the result. Notebookcheck’s hands-on review
What are its size, cutting range, and slope limit?
TerraMow lists the mower at 55.5 × 37.1 × 26.7 cm and 10.1 kg, with an 18 cm cutting width. The three-blade disc is centered within the housing. Cutting height is manually adjusted from 20 to 60 mm; the product specifications list a 3.96 Ah / 88.704 Wh battery, 150 minutes of operation per charge, and 120 minutes to recharge. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. TerraMow’s product specifications

The stated maximum operating slope is 18° (32.5%). Notebookcheck describes the mower’s off-road capability as poor, so the rating should not be read as evidence that it will handle uneven, loose, or rough ground well. A flat lawn is a safer match than a garden with steep transitions or challenging terrain. Notebookcheck’s hands-on review
Will it cut right up to lawn edges?
Not necessarily. Notebookcheck says the 18 cm disc sits within the housing, leaving roughly 10 cm between the disc and each side of the body. At non-level transitions, that can leave an uncut strip along an edge. Expect to finish some borders separately if a close, tidy edge is important. Notebookcheck’s hands-on review

What app and maintenance details should owners know?
Notebookcheck says the Mini 500 requires the TerraMow Pro app and that older S/V series devices cannot be added to that app. Existing TerraMow owners should confirm app compatibility and current setup requirements before buying. The mower is rated IPX6, and the review says it can be washed with a garden hose; follow the current manual’s cleaning and safety instructions before doing so. The reviewer also notes that changing blades requires a screwdriver, which is not included. Notebookcheck’s hands-on review
