Its strongest practical selling points are the high rated throughput and choice of two cooling configurations. The main caveats: those speeds are manufacturer maximums, and the drive’s physical fit and temperatures depend on the exact variant and host system.
What the 2TB G70 PRO offers
TEAMGROUP lists two 2TB part numbers, TM8FFH002T0C129 and TM8FFH002T0C128, for the T-FORCE G70 PRO. Both are M.2 2280 drives using PCIe Gen4 x4 and NVMe, and the product page specifies DRAM cache. The manufacturer rates the 2TB model for sequential reads up to 7,400 MB/s and sequential writes up to 6,800 MB/s, plus 1,480 TBW endurance. These are manufacturer specifications based on internal testing, not guaranteed results in every computer or workload. Host hardware and software affect actual performance. TEAMGROUP’s product page is the current authority for its specifications.

The nominal capacity is 2TB. TEAMGROUP notes that usable capacity can be lower because formatting and system functions occupy space.

The drive uses the 80 mm-long M.2 2280 format, but the cooling hardware changes its thickness. TEAMGROUP lists the graphene version at 80.0 × 22.0 × 3.7 mm and the aluminum heatsink version at 80.0 × 22.0 × 8.7 mm. The two versions have different part-number suffixes, so check the exact listing rather than assuming a seller’s “G70 PRO 2TB” description identifies the heatsink configuration.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Confirm that the system has an M.2 slot supporting PCIe/NVMe, not just an M.2 connector for a different interface. Also check whether a laptop’s limited internal clearance or a motherboard’s built-in M.2 cover can accommodate the selected version. TEAMGROUP recommends verifying support across the device, motherboard, CPU, and BIOS before purchase. A motherboard’s own heatsink may be appropriate for the thinner graphene-equipped drive, but fit depends on the board and its cover; do not stack heatsinks unless the system design allows it.
How fast is it in practice?
The 7,400/6,800 MB/s sequential read/write figures are peak manufacturer ratings. They describe sequential transfers under TEAMGROUP’s internal test conditions, not every everyday task. System configuration and workload can change results, and the available independent material does not establish a comparable head-to-head ranking against other SSDs.

For a system that supports PCIe 4.0, the G70 PRO’s interface and ratings make it a high-throughput option. If the host supports a slower PCIe generation, the drive cannot deliver its full Gen4 capability. For ordinary booting, applications, and mixed use, peak sequential figures alone do not establish how it will compare with another drive in that specific workload.
Cooling and sustained writes
LinuxLinks tested a graphene-equipped sample under Linux and reported a 56°C peak during sustained writes in a desktop with 28.1°C ambient temperature, and 69°C in a compact Minisforum M2 system. The compact-system result was close to TEAMGROUP’s stated 70°C operating ceiling. LinuxLinks did not observe a clear sustained write-throughput collapse tied to severe thermal throttling in those tests, but the readings are specific to its systems, ambient conditions, and workload; they are not predictions for every case or laptop. LinuxLinks’ review describes its sample and test context.

The results illustrate why enclosure airflow and heatsink fit matter during prolonged heavy writes. A compact system with limited airflow may run warmer than a desktop, while the specific slot, cover, and workload all affect temperatures. The G70 PRO’s cooling configuration should therefore be selected around the host’s physical design, not from the assumption that one version is always cooler or more compatible.
What is known about the components?
Tom’s Hardware identified an InnoGrit IG5236 controller, DDR4 DRAM, and YMTC 232-layer TLC NAND in its 2TB review sample, which it described as double-sided. These are observations about that review unit, not a guarantee that every production lot uses the same components. Tom’s Hardware’s review provides the sample-specific details.

Endurance and warranty terms
TEAMGROUP rates the 2TB model at 1,480 TBW (terabytes written) and lists a five-year limited warranty. The warranty is subject to the applicable time or TBW limit, whichever comes first, and terms may vary by jurisdiction. TEAMGROUP also lists exclusions, including certain damage associated with incompatible hardware configurations and environmental or settings-related causes. Review the local warranty terms for the exact product before relying on the five-year figure. TEAMGROUP’s current product information and its official specification and support downloads are the relevant references.

Who should consider the G70 PRO?
- A reasonable fit: someone with a compatible PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe M.2 slot who wants a 2TB drive with DRAM cache, high rated sequential throughput, and a substantial stated endurance rating.
- Check carefully first: laptop owners and compact-PC users, or anyone whose motherboard has a close-fitting M.2 cover. Confirm the specific cooling variant’s dimensions and the host’s clearance.
- Do not buy on peak-speed figures alone: the ratings are manufacturer maximums, and the available evidence does not show a controlled comparison proving this model is faster than a particular alternative in your applications.
