TCL announced its 2024 Brazilian lineup with the 115-inch X955 Max at the center, calling it the world’s largest QD-Mini LED television. The announcement came in April 2024; the model’s Brazilian market arrival was announced in October at Brasil Game Show. TCL’s portfolio also included smaller Mini LED and QLED televisions, soundbars, air conditioners, white goods and gaming-focused products.
The X955 Max remains listed on TCL Brazil’s website, but the available information does not confirm its current August 2026 stock, selling price, delivery terms or installation cost. Its reported launch suggested price was R$159,900.
What TCL launched in Brazil
TCL’s April 5, 2024 announcement was a portfolio launch, not simply a single-TV reveal. The company used the event to present its Brazilian strategy, introduce presenter Tiago Leifert as a brand ambassador and highlight products across home entertainment and appliances.
Televisions
- X955 Max (115 inches): TCL’s flagship 4K QD-Mini LED television.
- C855 series: Announced in 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes, with 144Hz VRR, HDMI 2.1-related gaming functions, ALLM, DLG/Game Accelerator and FreeSync Premium Pro.
- C755 series: Announced as another QD-Mini LED option in 65-, 75- and 85-inch versions in the cited launch material. Check TCL Brazil’s live catalog for current model names and stock.
TCL later showcased the X955 Max and C855 at BGS, positioning the C855 as the official television of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The company’s announcement is available at TCL’s Brazil press site.

What “world’s largest QD-Mini LED TV” means
The phrase is TCL’s category claim: the largest television using its QD-Mini LED approach, not an assertion that the X955 Max is the largest television of any technology. At 115 inches diagonally, the panel is roughly 2.5 meters wide according to launch coverage by UOL/Tilt.

QD-Mini LED combines a quantum-dot color layer with an LCD panel and a Mini LED backlight. Quantum dots can improve color volume, while thousands of independently controlled backlight zones improve contrast and HDR control. The zones are still much larger than individual pixels, so this is not self-emissive technology like OLED. Bright objects on dark backgrounds can still produce blooming, especially around subtitles.

Brightness and HDR
“Up to 5,000 nits” describes a claimed peak measurement, not constant full-screen brightness in every picture mode. High peak output can make specular HDR highlights more convincing and helps in rooms with strong ambient light. It does not guarantee uniform brightness or eliminate reflections.
Local dimming
More than 20,000 zones should provide finer control than an edge-lit LCD and can preserve darker shadows around bright highlights. Because zones are not pixels, OLED can still deliver more precise black control in a dark room.

Gaming
The 144Hz VRR mode is the more broadly meaningful specification for compatible PCs and current consoles. The advertised 240Hz Game Accelerator or DLG mode should be treated as a special signal mode with possible resolution or input limitations; it should not be read as native 4K at 240Hz unless Brazilian technical documentation explicitly confirms that combination.
Audio
The integrated Onkyo 6.2.2 system may postpone the need for a soundbar. Buyers seeking independent surround-speaker placement, deeper bass or an upgrade path may still prefer an AV receiver and separate speakers.
Can a 115-inch television fit your home?
At this size, logistics are part of the purchase decision. Before paying, verify all of the following with the retailer and installer:
Rank #4
- DYNAMIC QNED COLOR PRO: Provides a full range of colors for a vibrant, crisp and accurate picture even in the brightest settings, make every moment on screen more vivid and lifelike
- MINI LED TECHNOLOGY: Mini LEDs create picture accuracy for brighter highlights and deeper blacks
- PRECISION DIMMING ULTRA: Experience richer, more lifelike visuals with Precision Dimming Ultra. It automatically fine-tunes brightness and contrast across every scene, so you see every detail clearly and enjoy vibrant, visually balanced images that feel true to life
- A8 AI PROCESSOR 4K GEN3: Enjoy outstanding picture, which uses AI to detect what you are watching and automatically improves the picture and sound quality to your personal preferences
- DOLBY VISION, DOLBY ATMOS & FILMMAKER MODE: Dolby Vision for extraordinary color, contrast and brightness, plus Dolby Atmos for sound you can feel all around you. Land in the center of the action with FILMMAKER MODE with Ambient Light Technology, allowing you to see films just as the director intended
- Measure the delivery route, including building entrance, hallway, elevator, stairwell, doors and turns. Do not assume a balcony lift or exterior hoist is included.
- Confirm the wall width, viewing distance and seating layout. A 115-inch 4K image needs a suitably deep room; sitting too close can make compression, low-quality streams and fine pixel structure more noticeable.
- Have a qualified professional check wall structure, mounting hardware and the television’s regional VESA requirements. Do not rely on an overseas specification sheet.
- Ask whether delivery is to the room of choice, whether unpacking and mounting are separate services, and what happens if the carton cannot pass through an access point.
- Confirm Brazilian voltage requirements, outlet capacity and TCL’s guidance on surge protection.
- Read the damage, dead-pixel and panel-failure procedures before delivery. A replacement panel of this size may require specialist transport and service access.
- Ensure technicians can reach the installation location later if the television needs repair.
Professional installation and calibration are sensible expenses for a panel this large, but no current Brazilian installation price was established in the available information.

Canaltech reported a R$159,900 suggested retail price when the X955 Max launched in Brazil in October 2024. That is a historical launch price, not a verified August 2026 selling price. The current TCL listing does not, by itself, establish stock, discounts, freight, installation fees, financing or warranty-service costs.

Who should consider it
- Owners of large rooms who want a television-based cinema experience without a projector screen.
- HDR and sports viewers who value very high brightness and a huge image.
- Premium PC gamers who can use high refresh rates and have suitable HDMI sources.
- Buyers prepared to arrange professional delivery, mounting and long-term service access.
Who should choose something else
- People in apartments or homes with narrow access routes, weak walls or limited seating distance.
- Buyers for whom the R$159,900 launch reference is already beyond budget.
- Dark-room cinema viewers who prioritize pixel-level blacks and minimal blooming; OLED may be a better fit.
- Renters or anyone likely to move soon.
- Buyers who want a fully upgradeable surround system rather than integrated television audio.
Alternatives worth comparing
Smaller TCL Mini LED televisions
A 75-, 85- or 98-inch TCL model can retain much of the brand’s HDR, gaming and Google TV proposition while reducing transport risk and cost. Check current Brazilian models and prices in TCL’s large-screen catalog; launch-era model announcements do not guarantee current stock.
OLED
OLED is compelling for a controlled dark room because each pixel emits its own light, producing exceptionally deep blacks and avoiding LCD-style zone blooming. It generally does not combine a 115-inch image with the X955 Max’s claimed brightness.
Projector and screen
A projector can exceed 115 inches and may be easier to replace, but it needs careful screen placement, lighting control and installation. Daytime contrast and HDR impact are usually weaker than a flagship Mini LED television.
Separate audio
A soundbar or AV receiver with speakers offers flexible placement and upgradeability. The X955 Max’s Onkyo system may be enough for many rooms, so budget for separate audio only if those capabilities matter to you.

Bottom line
TCL’s Brazilian launch was significant because it paired an unusually large flagship with a broader Mini LED, audio and appliance strategy. The X955 Max offers an enormous 4K QD-Mini LED picture, TCL-claimed brightness of up to 5,000 nits, more than 20,000 dimming zones and serious gaming features. Its practical value depends just as much on room access, mounting, viewing distance, current price and after-sales logistics as on those specifications. Confirm the live Brazilian offer before treating the 2024 R$159,900 figure or the website listing as a purchase quote.
