The TCL 65P7LS is a 65-inch 4K QLED Google TV sold in Australia. TCL lists it with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG support, one HDMI 2.1 input, two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a 2.0 speaker system and a 36-month television warranty. Those are the facts a buyer can verify today from the manufacturer and retailers. Public sources do not include independent measurements of picture or sound quality, so this guide covers what is listed, what is claimed, and where the gaps are.
Which model this guide covers
Everything here applies to the 65-inch Australian model, 65P7LS. TCL sells larger P7LS versions in other sizes, and the specifications differ. For example, TCL’s product page ties its ONKYO 2.1 speaker system to the 85-inch model, so that audio hardware should not be assumed for the 65-inch set. TCL also warns that features, specifications, certifications and sizes can vary by region and model and may change, so check the model number and specification sheet at the point of purchase.

Key specifications
The table below uses TCL’s own Australian product page and specification sheet. Where TCL’s listing does not establish a figure in real-world use, the table says so.

Picture quality: what is claimed
TCL’s product page describes quantum-dot colour and its picture processing as core features. The 93% DCI-P3 figure is the only colour number published for this model, and it comes from TCL’s own laboratory. It tells you the panel is designed for wide colour, not how it looks in your living room. Brightness, contrast, black level, motion handling and viewing-angle behaviour have not been measured in any public source found for this model, so this guide makes no claim about them.
#1 Best Overall

- More streaming, less searching: With personalized picks right on your Home Screen, quick access to the sports and entertainment you watch most, and fast and easy search in one place—the days of endless scrolling are over.
The HDR format list matters more in practice than the marketing terms. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are both dynamic HDR formats, and HLG is a broadcast-oriented format. Which of these you actually see depends on the streaming app, disc player or broadcast feed. A set that lists all three is well placed for mixed sources, but the list does not tell you how well each format is mapped on this panel.
Gaming: what the specifications support
TCL lists the refresh rate as 60 Hz with DLG 120 as a manufacturer-listed feature. That is enough to describe the TV as suitable for casual play at 60 frames per second, such as console or cloud games where a 60 Hz output is the target. It is not enough to claim native 120 Hz at 4K. If high frame rate is a priority, confirm the supported 4K 120 Hz modes with TCL before buying.
No public input-lag measurement was found for this model. Responsiveness can therefore not be rated here, and the marketing terms on the product page should not be read as a measured result.
Google TV, apps and live TV recording
The set runs Google TV, so app availability follows the Google TV store and your country. The listing also states USB PVR with pause live TV. Treat that as a conditional feature. It works only when a USB drive is connected, the broadcast signal allows recording, and the set’s software supports it for your source. Test the feature with your own antenna or service before relying on it.

Sound
The 65-inch model is listed with a 2.0 speaker system. TCL does not give output power or sound-quality measurements in the listing reviewed, and no independent listening or measured audio test was found. If you want stronger sound, a soundbar is an optional upgrade, not a requirement. Check that the soundbar connects through an HDMI port or optical output that suits your setup, because the TV has only three HDMI inputs and one of them is 2.1.
Wall mounting
The wall bracket is not included. Before buying a mount, check the VESA pattern and load rating in the model manual, then confirm that the mount’s screw spacing and weight limit match the TV. Do not assume a generic mount fits. Mounting clearance and cable routing also matter for the HDMI ports, so plan for them before you drill.
Warranty and where to buy
TCL’s Australia support page lists a 36-month television warranty for this model. Read the warranty terms for the conditions and exclusions that apply. Costco Australia and The Good Guys both list the 65P7LS. Prices and stock were not stable across the checks, so compare the current price and stock at the time you buy. The Good Guys page contains retailer copy and customer opinions, which are useful for seeing what owners report but are not instrumented testing.
What is and is not established
- Established by manufacturer listings: the 65-inch size, 4K resolution, HDR formats, HDMI port count and versions, Google TV, the listed memory and storage, USB PVR listing, and the 36-month warranty.
- Manufacturer claims only: the 93% DCI-P3 colour figure, the processing features, and the DLG 120 label.
- Not established in public sources: native 120 Hz at 4K, brightness, contrast, motion, viewing angle, input lag, sound quality.
- Member-only: CHOICE has a model-specific review, but its expert rating, detailed test scores and pros and cons are available only to members. Members can check those results directly before buying.
Buyer checklist
- Confirm the model number is 65P7LS and the size is 65 inches.
- Count the devices you need to connect. The set has one HDMI 2.1 and two HDMI 2.0 inputs.
- Decide whether you need 4K at 120 Hz. If yes, confirm it with TCL before buying.
- Budget for a wall mount if you plan to mount the TV, and check the manual’s VESA pattern first.
- Read the 36-month warranty terms and the retailer’s returns policy.
- Compare the current price and stock at Costco Australia, The Good Guys and other retailers.
- If you are a CHOICE member, read the model’s test results before deciding on picture and sound.
Use the 65P7LS if you want a 65-inch 4K Google TV with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG support, a clear warranty and a model that is widely stocked in Australia. Hold off if you need verified 120 Hz gaming, a measured picture or sound performance, or built-in audio that is stronger than the 2.0 speakers, until those details are confirmed.
