What the template does
Colorlib describes the example as an HTML5 and CSS3 table that can be used as a website template. Its defining interaction is a crosshair-style highlight: when a visitor hovers over a cell, the corresponding row and column are highlighted together. The September 28, 2026 collection page shows six visual variants, including solid and gradient fills and sharp or rounded corners, using a seven-day example grid. The original template page displays the post date April 21, 2018, while its details panel separately displays “Released: April 2026.” Those dates conflict, so they should be read as page metadata rather than a verified release history. The collection page says its first 25 tables were rebuilt in September 2026, but that does not establish that every detail of this individual template was retested.

What you need to use the hover effect
The table structure and visual styling use HTML and CSS. Colorlib’s current collection page says the crosshair hover behavior uses a small amount of vanilla JavaScript and does not use jQuery. Treat that as the collection’s implementation description; inspect the downloaded files before assuming a particular script structure or framework setup.

- Use the HTML table as the data structure, with header cells that identify the relevant rows and columns.
- Adapt the CSS to your site’s colors, spacing, and typography rather than relying on highlight color alone to convey meaning.
- Review the supplied JavaScript and test the hover behavior with the specific table content and layout you plan to publish.
License and attribution
The template detail page lists a CC BY 3.0 license. Colorlib’s September 2026 roundup says its built tables may be used in personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0 if the credit link is retained. Keep the required attribution when using the template, and check the license file in the downloaded package for the terms that apply to the files you use.
Make the table work on narrow screens
The collection recommends choosing between horizontal scrolling and converting rows into cards according to the task. Neither approach is established as an existing feature of this template, so choose and implement the behavior that suits your data:

- Keep a table and allow horizontal scrolling when readers need to compare values across columns or preserve the grid’s row-and-column relationships.
- Consider row-to-card stacking when visitors mainly need to read or act on one record at a time and cross-row comparisons are less important.
Whichever layout you choose, retain semantic table headers where the content is a table, and provide text labels or another non-color cue for highlighted states. Do not assume that the hover effect is usable by keyboard or assistive-technology users without testing and, where needed, adding an appropriate interaction and accessible state.

This pattern is most useful when a visitor benefits from tracing the intersection of one row and one column—for example, when scanning a compact schedule or comparison grid. It is less suitable as-is for a long record list or a data-management interface, where scrolling, sorting, filtering, or row-focused actions may matter more than a hover crosshair. Decide based on what the table’s readers need to compare, then adapt its layout and interaction accordingly.
