先核对硬盘型号
群晖 2016 年规格表和快速安装指南均记载最大内部原始容量为 16TB，即两块 8TB 硬盘。这个数字描述的是当时文档所列配置，不是对任意新款大容量硬盘的兼容保证。购买或替换硬盘前，请在DS216j 硬盘兼容性列表中按具体硬盘型号和固件版本查询。群晖也提醒，固件或硬件变动可能影响兼容性与稳定性；即使列入清单也不构成绝对保证，使用未列出的硬盘或固件导致的问题，支持可能受限。

3.5 英寸 SATA 硬盘可直接按设备盘位安装。若要使用 2.5 英寸 SATA 硬盘，安装指南要求另购 Synology 2.5-inch Disk Holder Type C；购买前应确认配件仍有售且适配。
容量与冗余不是一回事
DS216j 支持 Basic、JBOD、RAID 0、RAID 1 和 SHR。Basic 与 JBOD 的组织方式不同于镜像冗余；RAID 0 侧重组合容量与性能，但不提供单盘故障保护。RAID 1 和双盘 SHR 可提供单盘故障容错，代价是可用容量受较小硬盘容量限制。两盘容量不同时，镜像布局不会把两块盘的全部容量都变成可用空间。

RAID 不能代替独立备份：误删、勒索软件、设备损坏或其他灾害仍可能影响阵列中的数据。重要文件应另存到 NAS 以外的位置。
DSM 更新期限对二手价值的影响

因此，评估二手价时，不要只看当年的硬件规格或“能安装 DSM”这一点。更关键的是你需要的功能是否能在该设备可用的 DSM 版本及当前套件中运行。旧资料列出的备份、共享文件夹同步、云同步、DLNA/UPnP 媒体服务和 Download Station 等功能，不能一概视为今天仍受支持或适合当前部署。群晖资料也曾列出 Surveillance Station 最多支持 10 台 IP 摄像机、720p H.264 总计 300 FPS、含两个免费摄像机授权；这是 2016 年资料中的能力描述，购买前须核实当前套件兼容性与授权要求。
性能与实际使用预期
群晖 2016 年规格表给出的读速为“超过 112.75 MB/s”，写速为 97.6 MB/s，并注明性能会因环境而异。这些是厂商公布的数据，不是独立测试结果。实际速度还会受硬盘、网络、文件大小、客户端和任务类型影响；千兆网口也限制了单条有线网络连接的理论链路速度。
