For a new account, focus first on a class role you enjoy, campaign progress that unlocks systems, and upgrades that strengthen your whole setup—not just character level.
How Sword x Staff works
The game combines map exploration and idle resource generation with auto-battles. The Google Play listing describes AI-driven movement and skill use during fights, as well as resources accumulated while offline. Prydwen’s beginner guide says players do not manually control their character in PvE or PvP combat. In practical terms, your decisions happen mainly before and between fights: choose a class, equip skills and gear, improve companions, and progress through content. What you can play
Prydwen lists story Adventure, co-op Dungeons, tower-climbing modes, and solo or group Raid Bosses among the PvE activities. PvP includes Solo Arena and a 3v3 Tournament. Which starting class should you choose?
The starting choice is Warrior or Mage. Choose based on the play style and role you want to develop, rather than assuming one class is best in every version. Pro Game Guides favored Mage for area damage and faster early-stage clearing in its guide updated May 27, 2026, while describing Warrior-to-Knight as a viable defensive or team choice. Consider the cost of switching
Prydwen describes two class-switching methods with different effects. One changes your class while leaving current-class skills unusable unless you switch back; another converts pulled skills and brings the new class to your current level. Because this is a consequential and potentially changeable mechanic, check the current client’s switch screen and confirmation text before committing. Prydwen classes and roles guide.

How to build skills for automated fights
Since the game executes battles automatically, your skill loadout and progression are the main ways to shape combat. The Google Play listing advertises more than 200 skills; that is the store listing’s promotional claim, not an independently audited count of currently available skills. Google Play listing.

What raises Combat Power?
Combat Power (CP) is a combined measure of your character’s progression, not another name for character level. Pro Game Guides identifies class upgrades, skill tier, pet quality, relics, gear, and map progress as contributors. Prydwen also describes equipment, companions, class progression, and campaign advancement as interconnected parts of character development. Equipment and companions
Prydwen says equipment slots have fixed main stats, while item-dependent secondary stats and substats vary. Compare the stats on an item rather than judging it only by its overall power indicator. Companions supply passive stats and can be improved through gifts and affection, so their contribution is separate from your active skill setup. Prydwen beginner guide.
Fantomons, relics, and reported thresholds
Pro Game Guides includes pet quality and relics among CP contributors. Its May 27, 2026 guide reports that relics unlock at level 30 and that a selected-category guarantee applies every 10 pulls; it also reports Fantomon rates of 0.8% for SSR and 5% for SR. These are dated guide claims, not confirmed live guarantees or rates. Check the current in-game summon and relic screens for the applicable rules before spending resources. How campaign progress and idle rewards fit together
Campaign advancement opens new areas and can unlock systems and rewards. Pro Game Guides advises pushing campaign stages for those unlocks, while Prydwen notes that later exploration can also be gated by account level. If a fight stops you, improve the parts of your build that contribute to CP and collect available idle resources rather than repeatedly forcing the same encounter; Prydwen says there is no obligation to rush. What seasonal progression means for long-term upgrades
Seasons can bring new class tiers, regions, companions, equipment, and bosses, and new skills may alter class balance. Prydwen’s May 26, 2026 class guide observed new tiers and seasons arriving roughly every two to three months in the version it covered; that is an observed cadence, not an official schedule. Before investing heavily in a seasonal system, check whether the client labels the progression permanent or season-specific. A separate May 2026 guide describes that distinction, but its reported reset thresholds are not confirmed by the official store listing or Prydwen pages cited here, so do not assume a particular reset rule without checking in game.
