Microsoft’s 13-inch Surface Pro with a Snapdragon X2 Elite chip, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and an OLED touchscreen is selling for $1,649.99, according to TechRadar’s October 8, 2026 deal report. That is $450 below the reported $2,099.99 price, or about 21.4% off. It is a substantial reduction, but the “lowest price ever” description is too strong: TechRadar had previously recorded the same configuration at $1,599.99.
Which Surface Pro configuration is on sale?
The offer applies to the 13-inch 2026 Surface Pro configured with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, 16GB of memory, 1TB of solid-state storage and an OLED PixelSense touchscreen. This is the higher-end productivity configuration, rather than the entry-level Surface Pro.

The $1,499 starting MSRP Microsoft announced for the 13-inch Surface Pro refers to the product range, not this OLED, X2 Elite, 16GB/1TB specification. A lower starting price therefore does not make this deal configuration a poor value; it reflects a different set of components.

Why the OLED and X2 Elite configuration costs more
OLED display
The optional OLED panel is the most visible upgrade. It keeps the 2880 × 1920 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate listed for the 13-inch line while offering the contrast and black levels associated with OLED. That can matter for photo and video work, reading in dark interfaces and general tablet use. Microsoft also sells 13-inch versions with LCD displays, so buyers should confirm the panel type in the listing before ordering.

Snapdragon X2 Elite
The X2 Elite is the faster processor tier in Microsoft’s 2026 Surface Pro range; the comparison page also lists Snapdragon X2 Plus models. Microsoft says the new generation delivers up to 53% faster graphics than the previous generation. That is a manufacturer comparison, not an independent test of this discounted unit, and application compatibility remains an important consideration for Windows on Arm software.
16GB memory and 1TB storage
Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is a practical capacity for office work, many browser tabs and moderate creative applications. The 1TB SSD provides substantially more room for project files than entry-level capacities and is useful when the Surface Pro is expected to serve as a primary computer rather than a travel companion.

What the hardware is designed to do
Surface Pro remains a 2-in-1: use it as a tablet, or open its kickstand and attach a keyboard for laptop-style work. Microsoft lists two USB-C/USB4 ports, facial recognition and a listed weight of 1.97 pounds without the keyboard. Those specifications favor portability, external displays and modern USB-C peripherals, but buyers who rely on older USB-A devices may need an adapter or hub.

Microsoft’s stated battery figures are up to 15.5 hours of local video playback and up to 11.5 hours of active web browsing for the 13-inch model. These are Microsoft test results under its disclosed conditions, not an independent endurance result for the sale unit. Brightness, wireless use, applications, video calls and connected accessories can all change real-world runtime.

Does the Surface Pro include a keyboard?
No. Microsoft states that the Surface Pro keyboard and Surface Slim Pen are sold separately. The keyboard is the essential add-on if you plan to type reports, code or long emails; the pen is aimed at handwriting, sketching and inking. Microsoft also lists a Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock among its accessory options.
That means the effective cost of a laptop-like setup is higher than $1,649.99. Check the exact package contents before checkout and add the keyboard, pen, dock or other accessories you actually need to your budget. Microsoft 365 and other software are also separate purchases where applicable.

Is $1,649.99 a good price?
It is a major discount against the reported $2,099.99 price, but it is not the lowest price established in the available price history. The same configuration was previously seen at $1,599.99, making today’s offer $50 higher than that observed low. A conventional laptop may be simpler if you always work at a desk, need a built-in keyboard, require many legacy ports or do not use tablet and pen features. The Surface Pro’s value depends on treating its flexibility as a benefit rather than paying extra for features you will never use.
