Streamlabs Prime is now Streamlabs Ultra. Streamlabs renamed and expanded its premium subscription; existing Prime subscribers were automatically converted, with their billing cost and renewal dates unchanged at the time of the transition. For new subscribers, the useful question is whether Ultra’s wider bundle and higher limits justify its current checkout price for the tools you actually use.
Prime and Ultra are not two current plans
Prime is the former name of Streamlabs’ paid subscription. In a Streamlabs article published November 21, 2022 and marked updated August 12, 2026, the company described Ultra as a next-level creative suite extending premium access beyond streaming tools. Streamlabs said existing Prime subscribers were automatically moved to Ultra, with billing cost and renewal dates unchanged during that transition. That historical price continuity does not establish what a new subscriber will pay now. Streamlabs’ current Ultra page compares Free, Ultra, and Ultra+, so those are the plans to assess today—not Prime versus Ultra as separate subscriptions.

Streamlabs describes its basic tools as free, with Ultra adding premium access and higher limits across a suite of creator apps. The examples below are from Streamlabs’ current plan page, accessed October 3, 2026; features and limits can change, so check the live comparison before subscribing. These are plan-page claims, not independent tests of performance or outcomes. Ultra+ is a separate, higher tier: Streamlabs lists up to 30 automations, 5,000 Sidekick interactions per month, and 30 GB of cloud storage for it, along with additional support and success-contact benefits. Those Ultra+ limits are not included in standard Ultra.
How to decide whether Ultra fits your workflow
Stay on free if your needs are basic
If you need only basic streaming and the free tools cover your workflow, you do not need to subscribe just because Prime was renamed. Streamlabs says basic tools remain available without Ultra. Start with Free and identify a specific restriction you are running into before paying.

Consider Ultra if you will use the bundle
Ultra may be relevant if you need a particular premium feature—such as multistreaming—or regularly use several of the included creator apps. Compare the plan’s actual limits with your workload: for example, whether 10 active automations, 1,000 monthly Sidekick interactions, up to 11 guests or cameras, and 10 GB of storage fit what you need. These are the Ultra figures published on the plan page accessed October 3, 2026, not guaranteed future limits.

If your decision depends on more than 10 automations, more than 1,000 monthly Sidekick interactions, or more than 10 GB of cloud storage, check Ultra+ rather than assuming standard Ultra includes those higher limits. Streamlabs lists the higher figures under Ultra+.

What Streamlabs’ current price pages say
Streamlabs’ official pages show different price statements. The Ultra landing page displays “Starting at $15.75/mo,” while Streamlabs’ FAQ states “$27/month or discounted when billed annually at $189/year.” Both were accessed October 3, 2026; the FAQ result does not give a publication date. The reviewed pages do not explain the difference, so neither figure should be treated as a universal price. Confirm the amount and billing period shown at the checkout for your account before purchasing. Check Streamlabs’ FAQ and the Ultra plan page for the current displays.
For the transition itself, Streamlabs’ 2022 article answered “Is there a price difference?” with “Nope! Same price.” That statement concerned converting existing Prime subscriptions at that time; it does not resolve today’s price for a new Ultra subscription.
