Confirm the model match first, because a pedestal or riser that does not fit your appliance cannot be made to work by adjusting it. Samsung’s official instructions, titled “Install your Samsung laundry pedestal or riser,” set out the sequence below, and the steps that follow keep Samsung’s order and safety warnings.
Confirm you have the correct pedestal or riser
Samsung ties compatibility to the appliance model, not to the washer or dryer category. Find the model number first. Samsung says it is usually located on the rim behind the door or on the top of the appliance’s backside. Use that number to identify the compatible pedestal or riser before you buy or open any packaging.

Two product types are in play:
- Standard pedestal: Samsung’s traditional laundry pedestal, offered in a 27-inch or 30-inch version, with a storage drawer.
- Riser: A shorter support used by FlexWash and FlexDry models instead of a standard pedestal. It does not include a storage drawer.
Do not substitute a generic “universal” pedestal. Samsung’s guidance instructs users to select the pedestal compatible with their model. If a pedestal or riser is missing, replacement screws and other parts can be found through Samsung Parts.
Tools, parts, and who needs to help
Samsung lists the tools and parts the job requires. Most of them come with the pedestal.

- A Phillips-head screwdriver, used to remove the four leg-clamp screws.

Plan on at least two people for the lifting. Samsung says not to attempt this installation alone, because doing so could cause serious injury. The appliance is heavy and must be tipped back and set onto the pedestal at the same time, which is the step where a single person is most likely to lose control.
Installation steps
1. Level the pedestal and open its clamps
- Place a level on each of the pedestal’s four sides. Adjust the legs with the supplied spanner wrench until the pedestal sits level on every side.
- Open the pedestal drawer fully so the front clamps can open completely.
- Remove the screw holding each of the four leg clamps, using the Phillips-head screwdriver.
- Open all four clamps.
2. Lay the appliance on its back
- With a second person helping, lean the washer or dryer backward until it lies flat on its back.
- Check that the appliance’s plastic feet are fully tightened before moving it.
3. Lift the appliance onto the pedestal
- With help, tilt the appliance upright.
- Lift it onto the pedestal, aligning each foot with its clamp.
4. Check that every foot is seated
- Confirm that each foot is fully seated in its clamp. Do not treat the installation as complete until all four feet pass this check.
If a foot does not sit fully in its clamp, do not push the appliance into place with the foot partly engaged. Lift the appliance back off with help, realign the foot, and repeat the seating check. For any clamp-closing or fastening steps specific to your model, follow the instruction sheet packed with your pedestal, since that sheet governs the final assembly for that model.

Standard pedestal or riser: which fits your model
The decision comes down to your model, not preference. The table compares the two types on the points Samsung’s instructions address.

Check the exact product listing or the model’s manual for dimensions before ordering, especially for a riser, because Samsung’s installation page does not give its height.

Delivery and installation service limits
If you are arranging Samsung delivery, Samsung US’s delivery instructions set conditions that affect the installation. A pedestal must be purchased with the laundry package and arrive with the washer. Samsung’s installation team will not install a washer or dryer on an old pedestal or on a generic non-Samsung pedestal.
These conditions apply to Samsung’s US delivery and installation service. They are not a general rule for every independent installer, so a self-install with a compatible pedestal you bought separately follows the steps above instead. Review Samsung’s current delivery instructions before scheduling.

Where to find model-specific instructions
Samsung’s general install page covers the steps common to its laundry pedestals and risers. Model-specific instructions can differ. For example, Samsung Canada publishes a product page for a 27-inch pedestal for front-load washers and dryers, model WE357A0Z/XAA, that lists its own installation guide. That guide applies to that model only, so use it only if your pedestal matches. Check your own model’s page at Samsung Canada’s WE357A0Z/XAA support page as an example of the model-specific format, and find your own model’s page for your installation.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying before checking the model: A standard pedestal and a riser are not interchangeable, so confirm the model number first.
- Lifting alone: Samsung warns against it because of the risk of serious injury.
- Skipping the leveling step: Samsung’s sequence begins with leveling all four sides, before any clamps are opened.
- Stopping before the seat check: The installation is not complete until every foot is fully seated in its clamp.
Keep the pedestal’s instruction sheet and the appliance manual with the installation for later reference.
