Matcha and Yuzu retain the existing GameBuds combination of a low-latency 2.4GHz USB-C dongle, Bluetooth 5.3, active noise cancellation, and a feature-rich companion app. They make the most sense if you want one set of earbuds for gaming and everyday listening and value comfort and easy device switching. Their ANC and default microphone noise handling are not the strongest in the category.
What changed in the Cozy Collection?
The Cozy Collection adds limited-edition Matcha and Yuzu finishes. SlashGear reported the colors launched in September 2026, and its reviewer found no hardware difference from earlier Arctis GameBuds color versions. In practical terms, choose between Matcha and Yuzu based on appearance; neither color is reported to add or remove a feature.

SteelSeries describes the finishes as “new Limited Edition Matcha and Yuzu colorways.” SlashGear listed the Cozy Collection at $199.99 in 2026. That is a reported price, not a guarantee of current price or availability.
What do the Arctis GameBuds offer?
Two wireless connections for gaming and everyday listening
The USB-C Nano-Dongle provides 2.4GHz wireless audio intended for low-latency gaming. Bluetooth 5.3 is available for phones and general listening. SteelSeries says a triple tap on an earbud switches between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, making it easier to move between a game device and a phone without digging through connection menus. The official page describes 2.4GHz as up to seven times faster than Bluetooth; that is SteelSeries’ comparison, not a guarantee of a particular measured latency in every setup.

App controls, noise modes, and protection
The Arctis Companion app provides volume, microphone, ANC and transparency controls, and game-specific EQ presets. SteelSeries lists more than 200 game audio presets for the Cozy Collection. The earbuds also support Qi wireless charging and carry an IP55 rating, which indicates protection against dust and water jets; it does not make them waterproof or suitable for immersion.

Do they work with PS5, Xbox, PC, and Switch?
Platform support depends on the version you buy. SteelSeries markets Xbox and PlayStation versions separately. For Xbox console use, choose the Xbox version; for a PS5-focused setup, choose the PlayStation version. The Xbox dongle has an Xbox/PC switch, so the mode matters when moving it between devices.

- LONG BATTERY — 10-hour battery satisfies marathon sessions, extendable with a Qi Charging Case using 3x extra charges for up to 40 hours of use
SlashGear’s reviewer tested an Xbox-version dongle on Switch, Switch 2, and PS5 after setting its switch to PC mode. That is a hands-on result for that reviewer’s setup, not a guarantee that every console, adapter, port, or configuration will behave identically. PC, Switch, handheld, and phone users should check the mode and any USB-C adapter their device requires. Bluetooth offers another connection option for compatible devices, but it is not the same as using the low-latency dongle.
How long does the battery last?
SteelSeries claims up to 10 hours of continuous use per charge and up to 40 hours total with the case. PC Gamer lists 10 hours in the earbuds plus 30 hours from the case. These are rated or reported figures, not a promise of the same runtime in every use; ANC and Bluetooth use can reduce battery life. WIRED reported slightly more than 10 hours in mixed use and noted that ANC drained the battery faster.

Are they comfortable for long gaming sessions?
Comfort is one of the GameBuds’ stronger points in the independent reviews covered here. SlashGear’s Jonathan H. Kantor tested Matcha and Yuzu units for a week and reported wearing them for more than four continuous hours without fit problems; he described a snug fit that stayed in place. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a universal fit guarantee, since ear shape and tip choice matter.
RTINGS also rates the SteelSeries fit more favorably than the ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova, Sony INZONE Buds, and Razer Hammerhead True Wireless 2021 in its comparisons. If comfort and stable in-ear wear matter more to you than the strongest possible noise cancellation, that evidence points in the GameBuds’ favor.

- QUICK-SWITCH WIRELESS - High-speed 2.4GHz wireless for XBOX, PS4/PS5, PC, Switch, and more, plus Bluetooth 5.3 for mobile devices
- ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION - 4-mic hybrid ANC lets you immerse yourself in cozy game time
- 200+ GAME AUDIO PRESETS - Arctis Companion App lets you select game-specific presets in real time. Boost critical sounds in game on your XBOX, PS5, PC, and more
- 40-HOUR BATTERY - 10 Hours continuous playback + charging case for up to 40 hours total
How good are the ANC and microphone?
The earbuds include ANC and transparency modes, but reviews suggest their noise cancellation is useful rather than class-leading. WIRED found ANC helpful but not exceptional. RTINGS says the ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova and Sony INZONE Buds provide considerably stronger ANC than the SteelSeries model in its comparisons.
Microphone performance is also a trade-off. SlashGear’s reviewer found voice capture effective during the week of testing. However, RTINGS reports that both the ASUS and Sony alternatives handle background noise better by default, while the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless 2021 also has better out-of-box microphone noise handling. If calls in noisy places are a priority, these differences are worth weighing alongside the GameBuds’ gaming features.

How do they compare with other gaming earbuds?
| Alternative | What the comparison says | Where the GameBuds have an edge |
|---|---|---|
| ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova | RTINGS says ASUS has considerably stronger ANC and somewhat better default microphone noise handling. | RTINGS favors SteelSeries for comfort, controls, a more balanced sound profile, and a deeper app. |
| Sony INZONE Buds | RTINGS says Sony offers longer continuous battery life and better ANC and microphone handling. | RTINGS favors SteelSeries for Bluetooth codec flexibility, comfort, controls, and IP55 protection. |
| Razer Hammerhead True Wireless 2021 | RTINGS says Razer has better microphone noise handling out of the box. | SteelSeries uniquely combines a 2.4GHz dongle with Bluetooth in this comparison, and RTINGS favors it for comfort and battery life. |
WIRED rated the Arctis GameBuds 9/10 and reported no noticeable audio lag through the dongle across the gaming devices it tested. That review and SlashGear’s week of use support the appeal of the dongle for gaming, but neither result guarantees identical performance on every device or network environment.
Should you buy the Arctis GameBuds Cozy Collection?
They are a good fit if you want one comfortable set of earbuds for low-latency gaming and Bluetooth listening, plus app-based game EQ, ANC, transparency mode, and wireless charging. The Cozy Collection colors do not appear to change the hardware, so there is no performance reason to choose Matcha over Yuzu. At SlashGear’s reported 2026 price of $199.99, the value rests on getting that mix of gaming and everyday features in one pair.
Quick Recap
- Consider them if comfort, dongle-plus-Bluetooth connectivity, and app flexibility are priorities.
- Look elsewhere if the strongest ANC or background-noise handling for calls matters more than comfort and controls.
- Choose the platform version carefully: buy the Xbox version for Xbox console use and the PlayStation version for a PS5-focused setup.
