That figure describes the download package reported for the update, not necessarily the amount of additional storage the installed game will occupy.

Amazon Luna is among the platforms identified for the game’s October 6, 2026 launch, but the hotfix report specifically names PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for this rollout. It does not provide a separate Luna download size or a distinct Luna change list.
Did Galactic Racer add key rebinding?
No. Key rebinding is not confirmed as part of this hotfix or as a currently shipped feature. PC players have repeatedly requested the ability to assign keyboard controls to different keys, and a game administrator acknowledged that feedback.

The wording matters: the team is considering the request, but it gives no implementation commitment, launch date or specific control scheme. Until an official patch note or in-game menu confirms otherwise, PC players should assume the existing keyboard layout cannot be freely remapped.

What about private matches and custom races?
Private matches have also been described as a hoped-for future addition rather than a released feature. There is no formal announcement establishing a private-lobby system, custom-race rules, an invite flow or a schedule for any of them. Players looking for those options should check the game’s current multiplayer menus and official update notes rather than treating community requests as commitments.
Where this hotfix fits in the launch timeline

Because this is the second hotfix within a week of launch, its immediate purpose is to improve the baseline experience while the team evaluates player feedback. The update does not, on the information currently available, change the game’s mode lineup or add the control and matchmaking features players are requesting.
What players should do after installing
- Allow the platform client to download and install the roughly 400–500 MB update.
- Restart the game after installation so the new build is loaded.
- Test the activity that previously produced a crash or other instability.
- If the problem remains, record the platform, game version, error message, reproduction steps and approximate time of failure.
- Send those details to customer support, as requested in the hotfix notes.
Players should not expect a new key-binding screen after this update. A future control change would require a separate announcement or patch note confirming that it has shipped.
