Can you switch vehicles mid-run? No. In the campaign, your vehicle class is locked for the Tour once it starts. You choose a landspeeder, speeder bike, or skim speeder in the Loadout at the start of a Tour and can choose again between Acts I and II, and between Acts II and III. Reaching a new planet lets you tune or upgrade your current build; it does not let you switch classes.
When you can change vehicles in the campaign
The campaign’s vehicle choice happens at Loadout screens, not at every race or planet stop. The game launched on October 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; Fuse Games describes choosing a vehicle to begin a run in its launch-day Xbox Wire interview.

| Campaign point | Can you choose another vehicle class? | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| When a Tour begins | Yes | Choose a landspeeder, speeder bike, or skim speeder in the Loadout. |
| Between Act I and Act II | Yes | A new Loadout choice is available for the next Act. |
| Between Act II and Act III | Yes | A new Loadout choice is available for the next Act. |
| During an Act’s Tour | No | The selected class stays locked, including when you reach a new planet. |
| After losing all remaining League Tokens | Yes, when the Act restarts | The run ends and the current Act restarts with a new Loadout. This resets run progress; it is not a mid-run swap. |
The Act-boundary and restart details are reported by launch guides, including IGN’s vehicle-change guide and GamesRadar’s guide. These timing details are guide-derived and could change with an update.

- At the start of a Tour: Open the campaign Loadout and select the class you want before beginning the run.
- At an Act transition: When the next Act presents a new Loadout, select a different class there if you want to change.
- If you are already mid-Tour: You cannot swap classes at a planet stop. Continue with the selected class, or lose the remaining League Tokens to end the run and restart the Act. Restarting costs your current run progress.
What the three regular campaign choices are like
Fuse Games’ official vehicle guide describes class characteristics. These are qualitative handling and durability descriptions, not measured lap-time rankings or proof that one class is universally fastest.
#1 Best Overall
- RAZOR CREST: Work for the New Republic with the Razor Crest
- FILM INSPIRED: 7-inch vehicle is based on the ship from Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu
- PLAY FEATURES: Features detailed armory, carbon freezing chamber, and more
- ICONIC HEROES: Includes 1-inch micro figure accessory the Mandalorian with Grogu
- CROSS PLAY: Accessories compatible with all Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron vehicles
| Class | Reported feel and tradeoffs | May suit you if… |
|---|---|---|
| Landspeeder | Stable handling, drifting, durability, and a beginner-friendly feel; less focused on outright speed. | You prioritize stability and surviving contact. |
| Speeder bike | High velocity and agility, but little armor; its Kinetic Burst comes with a control tradeoff. | You are comfortable managing speed and risk. |
| Skim speeder | A balance of resilience and agility, with the sharp-cornering Knife Edge maneuver; acceleration is slower. | You can maintain momentum and make use of its cornering style. |
Choose according to the handling tradeoff you prefer rather than assuming the fastest-sounding description guarantees better results. Fuse Games Design Director Mark Bridges notes that the repulsorcraft use a traction model unlike traditional cars, bikes, or planes in an Xbox Wire interview, so familiar vehicle labels do not necessarily predict how each one will feel in play.
Tuning is not a vehicle swap
Planet stops let you tune or upgrade the vehicle you selected; they do not put another class into the current race. A launch guide distinguishes customization of other vehicles from choosing which one takes part in the ongoing run. Treat the stop as a way to improve the current build, not as a hidden class-selection screen.

Are podracers regular Loadout options?
No. The standard campaign Loadout choice is among landspeeders, speeder bikes, and skim speeders. Podracers appear in select missions or events, rather than as one of those three regular campaign choices.
Does multiplayer use the same swap timing?
The campaign timing described above is established for campaign Tours. Available launch coverage does not establish whether multiplayer Tours use the same Act-boundary selection windows, so check the rules for the specific multiplayer mode rather than assuming campaign behavior applies.
